I have a replacement Edge 1030, and I'm trying to enter an address (my daughter's house) as a destination for Navigation. I think I need a refresher course on how to enter a location. Each time I try, I get "No results found."
It's interesting: one Edge 1030 (the older one) gives me 5 options after I press "Search" - POI Categories, Cities, Addresses, Intersections, and Coordinates. The other (the replacement) only gives me three, omitting the Addresses and Intersections choices. I'm going to start over.
I did a device reset, and updated to firmware 6.3, but the Navigation interface is still incomplete. I have opened a trouble ticket with Garmin Support.
I've run into this problem too on a week old 1030. I have cities and coordinates as the only options for a search. Under maps I only have the Basemap and the Garmin Cycle Map US/Canada. I don't see the GECODE map. How do I obtain this map? Do I need to call tech support?
Using Garmin Express you should be to able to re-install of the maps. This will add the GECODE map back. GE should provide an option under the map for the device.
I had a phone session with Garmin Support on Monday. We determined that I was missing two of the map files. I did a reinstall of the map, and these two files appeared, as well as the Streets and Intersections options under Search. I entered an address, started navigation, and then was able to get this location into Saved Locations.
All is well!
I wonder how these Edge 1030's are getting out of Kansas without all the maps installed?
I think all 1030's are shipped with the complete set of maps but something can go wrong when updating the maps. I recall I could do a search on Streets when I first got the 1030 but after the map update that option was gone.
