I have a question pertaining to the memory card you can insert into the back of the 1030, so in the edge 1030 garmin manual it says it supports memory cards up to 2TB but they have to be formatted to FAT32 I do not know how to do that and would like to increase my devices memory what is the max size card the unit will accept without having to be formatted to FAT32?
yes you can use a > 32 gb micro sd card, but for installing garmin maps on the micro sd card there is still a limit of max 32 gb. You will get a error massage in garmin express if > 32 I had to buy a 32 gb card to installing a map on the micro sd card. -> I have had inserted a 64 gb card in the 1030 before -> no problems. But map installing only works on max 32 GB micro sd cards. -> a suggestion for garmin for the next fw update of the 1030.
There is a recording option to use 1 second recording or "smart" recording. The unit will default to "smart" recording unless you are using a power meter.
I have a total usable amount of 14.4 of that I've used 6.23 so I have 8.17 remaining to be used. I can pm you a fit file of the activity if you want to take a look at it.
That's a huge amount of space. Your problem is not the memory.
I can confirm that after a large amount of testing today that I was able to get the famed 1sec spacing but this was on the trainer inside. Maybe my trouble is the vibration caused by the road surface? Any thoughts or inputs from others is much appreciated also I will PM anyone the 4 rides on the trainer and the one ride outside today if you want to take a look at what I'm talking about.
I am unable to PM you the forums say something about you have to have private messaging turned on for it to work , can you PM me an email where to send these files?
So I looked at the 5 files you sent me and all 5 files are using 1 second recording. What are using to determine that they are not using 1 second recording?
All 5 files were paired with a power meter, which would force the unit to record in 1 second mode even if it were set to using smart recording. The recording rate is set to use 1 second in the device settings.
Garmin Connect/Connect Mobile doesn't show the 1 sec recording dots/anything to the 1 sec, Maybe my problem is Garmin Connect then. Thanks for verifying that for me. Much appreciated. I thought you would say that because on my strava I can see the changes to the second.
