- The barometer seems wrecked after the update, too much ascent on every session.

- Notifications from completed steps and stairs goals, even when I have disabled it.

- Power from cross country skiing is gone.

Calibration factor is not applied when using Stryd 5.0 foot pod for pace. Watch shows pace without applying calibration factor. Recorded running pace chart also does not apply calibration factor.

The calibration factor should be applied by watch, it has nothing to do with the foot pod. It is ease to check because

1. Recorded pace is the same as raw pace downloaded from foot pod.

2. Enable Auto calibration but foot pod pace and GPS pace (lap pace) still don't match, but you can calculate that the difference is equal to the calibration factor.

It was working properly last year. This is runners watch and yet this is broken for half a year now despite multiple reports.

I use GPS for distance, but Stryd for real-time pace. However, when distance is set to GPS, lap pace also uses GPS.

The calibration factor used to let me align Stryd’s real-time pace with GPS pace, while still keeping the faster pace updates from Stryd.

I saw the article you linked, but it says Stryd is “good enough.” In practice, I see a 1–2% difference depending on the shoes, which is why I prefer GPS for average pace and distance.

This setup worked last year on the same Forerunner 970, but the calibration factor stopped working after an update this winter.

17.33 audio volume bug

After this update, every time I go to the audio volume when streaming music or podcasts, the audio level decreases automatically without me touching any button. I also think the new layout is ugly, but that's not a bug, it's a matter of taste.

I thought about that and, to be honest, I am not sure how to validate that so I just follow Stryd's recommendations on its use.

When on the treadmill it is close enough for me. I stopped using my Stryd for anything other than a regular ole foot pod so I don't use it for otuside.

Stryd says to disable the calibration factor on Garmin and to ensure it is at 100

Notification while ending a training caused a reset

I got a phone app notification at the end of my training, the notification stayed on screen in a rectangle. I pressed the start button, I got the trainings menu, then wanted to press the „end training“ but then instead I got the notification menu on top of the trainings menu layered, then wanted to press the start button again on the dismiss notification to go back to the trainings menu, the watch restarted.

This seems like a corner case or some unhandled race condition that is not taken care of.

Screen lighting up randomly

Ever since i updated to 17.33, my watch have been waling up randomly without me pressing any button or touching the screen.

I've also noticed that if i leave my phone laying on the side, when i pick it up, the screen will light up as well even though i did not press any button or touch the screen.

AOD: OFF

Wake guesture: OFF

Wake on alerts: OFF

Wake on touch: ON

Is there a setting for me to turn off to stop this from happening?

After update 17.33, all blocked apps in smart notification was removed

I've just noticed that all the apps in smart notification that was blocked got removed and that causes me to receive every notification i receives on the phone. I even receive notification when i have smart notification turned off and the app section turned off. Only way i can fully stop receiving notification is to disable the entire notification section.

There's no need for photos, since the music screen displays either the next screen or the previous screen, depending on which direction you navigate from

7581323 a picture would be helpful to look into what you are noticing with the music or you can upload a video using that above link if it's easier.

Hi, after latest update my FR 970 doesn’t show training readiness data, and last average overnight hrv status. On the watch, the HRV status widget is still in a sleep mode (frozen wdget?) . A soft reset didn't help, and neither did re-pairing, syncing works fine, but nothing changes. Any sugestions?

I face the same problem too. My training readiness and HRV baseline have disappeared, and my watch tells me I need to wear for 3 days to achieve a baseline. My FR970 has always been on for me 24/7.

It isn’t solved. Seems that the update has reset some of the parameters but not all. I’ve done a hard reset- no change. Training readiness still No Data. Also affects the Training Status which is showing No HRV Status.

Hello,

Yesterday an update went through on my watch and since then my HRV baseline and training readiness have been gone, even though I've been wearing the watch consistently for the past weeks. Is this a bug? Tried restarting the watch and the app on my phone (which also had an update), but nothing helped.

How can I fix this?

Same for me. Since the update the HRV is recording overnight, but the baseline and 7day average values have gone. The baseline graph still shows the trace line (I was below the baseline for most of it) but the 7 day average show no value (No Status) with the message “determining baseline wear for 3 weeks”.

Training Readiness also has been wiped out and shows “No Data”.

I have worn my FR970 constantly throughout (including sleep).
