3 times in the last 2 weeks I have ran on a track. Many times during each of those runs I have looked at my watch too see what was my pace.

Those 3 times, after each of those activities, I have way wrong avg pace. The avg pace of each interval looks 1 min slower.

Additional information: as you can imagine the track is flat (ascent). The numbers of the AVG GAP fit what I was expecting.

Do the Avg Pace numbers should not be almost identical to the AVG GAP?

Today I had to do 8x 10sec @20km/h and recovery after each sprint. But mrs Garmin tells me how the recovery went. You can't see the information on your screen at that moment and the 10 sec. are gone before she's done. So I can't see what my speed is during the sprint. I really like having all the key information in one place, such as my sleep, Body Battery, Training Readiness, and the rest of the overnight summary.

However, I feel that one of Garmin’s most valuable health features is missing from this report: Vitals.

Since Vitals was introduced, it has become one of the best ways to quickly understand how my body recovered overnight. It would be great if the Morning Report also included a summary of overnight Vitals, such as Heart Rate Variability (HRV), resting heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen (when available), skin temperature (when available), and any other relevant overnight metrics.

This would allow users to see all their most important recovery and health information immediately after waking up, without having to open a separate section in the app.

I believe adding Vitals to the Morning Report would make an already excellent feature even more complete and useful.

Bug Report - Favorite Activity is Ignored When There Are 2 Activities in One Day

I pinned three Run activities for quick access.

Garmin Express 7.29.1.0

macOS Sonoma 14.8.7

All my Garmin software is up to date, but this issue is not new, and has been going on since at least the start of the year. I use the macOS Podcasts app to download episodes onto my computer, which I then transfer to an iPhone/iPod through Finder, and to my FR 970 through Garmin Express. In the FR music player, some of the episodes show up correctly under Music Library -> Podcasts. Some episodes are miscategorized under Music Library -> Other, which are at least accessible, but anything in that category does not get the Forward 30/Rewind 30 buttons in the playback controls. And some other episodes are completely missing from the music player: They don't appear under Podcasts, Other, nor any other category of the Music Library.

However, all the podcast episodes do get transferred to the device. I used Google's Android File Transfer to verify that they're actually on the FR 970, all organized correctly under Podcasts/<Show Title>/<Episode Title>/<Filename>. But in Garmin Express, if I go to Music -> My Device -> Podcasts, then the episodes labelled "Other" in the FR music player show up under the show title "Unknown", and the missing episodes are also missing here.

The miscategorized and missing episodes are regular mp3s that can be played in the Apple Podcasts/Music apps or VLC, and transfer to and play on my iPhone/iPod.

Inactivity Notifications

I have inactivity notifications enabled.
So I’ve been using my Forerunner 970 for golf and noticed I’m only getting the three distances and a green outline, no actual hole layout showing the fairway. I thought maybe I had a setting wrong so I spent hours while digging through everything, even called Garmin support. Turns out the 970 just doesn’t support course maps at all. Honestly pretty shocked given what this watch costs.

It already runs full color topo maps for hiking and navigation so the hardware can clearly handle it.

Would love to see Garmin add this in a future update.

Also wanted to flag a big inconsistency, the manual clearly mentions a Big Numbers setting that should be in Golf Settings, but it’s simply not there on the watch.
Spent a lot of time trying to find it and eventually Garmin support confirmed it’s not supported. Would be great to get some clarification on why the manual references a feature that doesn’t exist on the device.

As a golf enthusiast, it was also one of the reasons why i chose 970.

Thank you!
