Since the pool is 33m and I swam an even number that cant be right. 2033 / 33 = 61.6 lengths. Since it also recorded a 100m record of 1:15minutes, which I know did not happen I think it added at least 1 extra lap. It was a non-stop effort so there were no pauses. I cycled 6 lengths of freestyle and 2 of *** stroke

Set the correct pool size prior to starting the activity.

Swim continuously throughout the length, using one stroke type at a consistent pace and stroke cadence.

Use a strong push-off from the wall and a long streamlining (glide) phase.

NOTE: The type of turn (flip, touch, open) does not matter as long as you have a long glide following the push-off.

Use one of the four recognized competitive stroke types (freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly).

If resting between lengths, use rest intervals or ensure auto rest is enabled in settings.

If auto rest is enabled, minimize arm movement during rests or turn off auto rest and use the Lap button to mark rest intervals.

Use Drill Logging for drills that affect arm movement. If a drill log is not available, ensure auto rest is turned off and then use rest intervals for drills that affect arm movement.

If you are still having trouble with the accuracy, I would ensure the watch SW is up to date using Garmin Express. I would also recommend powercycling the watch.

RE: Indoor bike no longer connecting to Garmin Forerunner 955 after update

Having this issue with 955 and bowflex c6. I could do it manually, but that only lasted a few minutes before it was dropped. I tried to remove and re-pair the 2, but now the watch won't find it at all. Not an issue with the bike, as I can connect the bike to other apps and devices without issue. The only answer from Garmin support was to send my watch in for a replacement refurbished one, which I hesitate to do since this current Forerunner 955 that I have is only 6 months old. I'm trying to restore to a previous version before the update, but I can't seem to figure that out, so looking for other ways to troubleshoot without having to send my watch in. Noticing others with this issue on both Garmin Forums and Reddit, so was hoping someone had a solution, or that Garmin would send another update out, so I don't have to deal with sending the watch in for a replacement.

RE: Floors climbed on 27.09

When the ambient pressure goes down (weather changes) this is likely to happen. That is a pool length often used so that 3 lengths = 100m. if so, 60 lengths would = 2000m (plus it mistakenly added a length as noted). Being off by a length in a continuous swim of that length can easily happen by having to pass someone, slow down or stop and then accelerate, hitting hand against the lane line, scratching an itch etc. You can check the individual lap durations in GC to see where it may have added (or lost) lengths.

RE: Track Run calibration issues

Try it here Track Viewer
Please note that is my private app which could be removed at any time.

I still have several questions to be perfectly clear:

1. Say I've done a calibration on a track in lane 1. Do I need to actively press settings to manually change lane whenever I do or will the watch figure it out itself? (i.e. warmup & cooldown lane 4, work intervals lane 1)

2. Do I need to recalibrate the Track Run profile when I go to another *uncalibrated* track? If so, it would be restore to default settings, then? Or the alternative is to copy paste Track profile so I have *separate* ones? I'm skeptical on the claim "... the profile can store up to 10 different tracks ..."

More on later, thank you.

Connect IQ data fields are unreachable

Hi,

I have a couple of Connect IQ data fields installed. They worked on a 1-field data field just fine. I then did a factory reset of the activity (road cycling), when I want to set up a new 1-field data field now, only 2 out of the 5 Comnect IQ data fields are availabe for selection. When I select 2-field data field, all 5 are available to be selected. But also only for the bottom one, not the top one.

Yes, I'm aware that you can only use max 2, Connect IQ data fields at once, that's a different question though.

Any ideas?

What worked for me to fix a broken 27.09 firmware

Over the past couple of weeks I struggled with a broken 27.09 watch. I tried to downgrade to 26.08 but the problems remained. The about screen continued to display the asterisk and the watch was painfully slow. During runs, cadance dit not work at all. I tried everything, full reboot, factory reset, the fridge trick etc. All with no result.

I contacted Garmin via X and the recommended me to upgrade again to 27.09 via Garmin Express. For me, that fixed the problems (at least for now 24 hours in). Fingers crossed that it remains this way but I wanted to share this in case it could help someone else too.

RE: Track Run calibration issues

looking forward to its public release!

RE: No music library and cannot download music/podcasts

Same for me, noticed today, was failing when updating playlist at 8%, tried to reinstall spotify and still failing at 1-2%.

No music library and cannot download music/podcasts

I no longer have a music library on my Forerunner 955 watch.
