Hoping someone can help, I have download a course to follow for a 50mile ultra, I have got the course on to the the watch ,  so I go to start a run, then open navigation,

Go to courses, select the course,  then do course, I then start the run, the watch face will display the map as I'm running along a section of the course I don't getting any turn alerts,

If I go into settings turn prompts are on.

Thanks for any help

  • How have you download it? If it's just GPX transferred to device then usually no turn-by-turns. I've let myself understand that the turn-by-turn is added in Garmin Connect (Web) with some logic when it knows the tracks that there's turns. If it's just some trail run there might not be known routes and it might not add any turn-by-turn instructions.

So kind of hard to say here what is your case here. Like the setting might not matter if there's no instructions.

  • The way I had the navigation enabled was to use the PacePro; First I created a PacePro on the Garmin connect website, added a course (you will need to have the course created prior, if not, go to create the course using the gpx file) and all the other metrics you want, then send it to the device. Go to Run - Training - PacePro and select your PacePro plan, the map will be displayed, hit Start and - Use Plan the next prompt will ask "Enable Course Navigation" press start for Yes and you should have navigation now.

  • Will give this a try thanks
