Bug: Maptheme not saved

I was playing a bit with my watch and found out that the map theme isn't saved.

You can choose between none, high contrast, dark and popularity.

Standard setting is "none" . You can choose a different theme but when you enter the map no theme there is nothing changed. And then when you go back to theme settings is back to "none".

Fw= 12.23

  • I can confirm this issue, strange that nobody seems to care about

  • Yeah, now that you mention it... I actually think this already was the case in the previous firmware as well. For me it's not really an issue though because I have never used anything beside the standard theme (which is none I guess). So for my day to day use it's not as much of a problem.

    Same with the graphical corruption issue, shouldn't be there but at least it doesn't hinder my usage of the watch so not bothered too much with it (should also be fixed though, don't get me wrong).

    Some issues just actually hinder usage for many people while others go unnoticed or are in parts that not many people actually seem to use.

  • Correct.

    But every bug should be mentioned. If a functionality doenst work it should be fixed otherwise it had no use :)

  • I agree. The whole map feature seems to be a bit off right now. In another thread, someone mentioned problems with integrating OSM maps. I have this issue as well. Trying to configure OSM maps on the watch leads to freezing (due to overload?), so that you have  to turn off the watch  via long pressing the power button. So i hope, Garmin does look again into the whole map functionality as it was one of the reasons for me to buy the 955 over the 255.

  • I have the same issue

  • Ok, I share the problem and even purchase decision. The MAPS issue in this FR 955 is problematic, it is a pity not to be able to enjoy your option
