Strange altitude readings on FW 12.23

Since the new 12.23 firmware I am now at half the altitude I was before , granted it 55 vs 118, but still....

How is it possible that the altitude can suddenly move so much?

Is this in recordings or in the ABC widget?

I'm checking against the local Ordnance Survey (UK) map of where I am at this very instant using the ABC widget.

The watch is showing within 3 metres of the spot height marked on the paper map. That's impressive.

The GPS in my phone shows about 40-50m higher than the paper map, and about 8m higher after correction.

Readings on the watch face with Altitude reading . It was always in the 115 - 120 range which is close to topographical maps , now is at 50 - 60 m range

How long is it since the watch had a GPS fix?

Recalibrate barometer sensor. If you want precision on altitude reading (outside activity app), you must recalibrate sensor 3/4 times per day. Use DEM to calibrate altitude.
