Race time Prediction

I am contemplating the purchase of a 955.

Does the 955 provide an in-race feature to project my completion time of a race. For example, I am running a marathon and look to the watch to see what my projected finish time is? And later I do that again. The benefit is that I could view my projected finish time and either slow down or speed up my pace. Thanks

  • Let me suggest you the best app (properly, a data field) I have ever used in my watches (from 935 to 955).

    Race screen

Garmin's apps or data fields don't take into account that you can't perfectly run the tangents and in a marathon you will get to 26.2 miles and still have at least 1 more minute of running before crossing the finish line.

"Race screen" solves this problem and, as a matter of fact, saved my day at my latest Marathon.

BTW, that data field is since many years my only screen in training also.

  • If you have the course loaded, your watch can tell you your estimated time to finish the course.

  • Similarly, if you have the course loaded and use PacePro it can suggest a pace to run for each part, given a target finish time.
