IQConnect Field - still active after completing workout - source of battery drain issue?

So, I think I've found why some are experiencing battery drain.

I have an IQConnect field which provides vibration alerts if I fall outside of desired zones (be it pace, hr or power) - and after finishing my run on Sunday, I noticed my watch was still buzzing, even thou I had completed the run, saved it and was back to the normal watch face.

I had it a few days previous and thought it was just the move goal thing - and back then noticed the battery drop.

Pressing the workout / activity button to start a new workout (and not doing anything else) seemed to stop the buzzing

Just wonder if this is a bug - and one which is causing the massive battery drain on some.

  • Interesting take, might be worth to test if starting a new activity (without the field perhaps) fixes the drains I noticed with stryd and hr strap...

    *Edit*

You might be on to something, I started an activity with the auxiliary HR field (not even any strap or anything with me, just starting something with the iq field is enough) and got the drain (think about 4% in 2 hrs or so). Started and stopped a new activity 45 mins ago without any of the 'issue fields' and battery is still at the same %.

So at least a quicker workaround compared to the reboot (and I still feel this is a more general connectiq issue, it should not be able to keep running or doing something in the background after the activity is stopped)
