955 and HRM Swim

In my pool swims I use my FR 955 and the HRM Swim. The HRM Swim is connected before I begin the activity and is worn continuously throughout the workout. I then go to save the workout and the heart rate data is not pulled over. The only way I can get heart rate data is if I manually select download but at that point it creates a second/duplicate activity with the heart rate data in it and the original file does not have it. With my Fenix 5 the heart rate data from the HRM Swim automatically synced when I saved it. Is this a bug or just something I am overlooking?

  • I had a slightly different problem with HRM-Pro. At the end it asks to sync heart rate data, but doesn't find the HRM (I tried many times). The moment I stop the activity, HRM is immediately recognized. At that point I can select the "Heart rate" option on the activity, download from the HRM and it is added to the activity.

I think there's only 1 activity saved...but Connect doesn't manage to sync it. I can go back and look at it on the watch but it seems to be breaking synchronization with Connect.

  • Hello, I would like to investigate the issue you are reporting. If you would like me to try and help, please reply with answers to the following questions, and I’ll reach out as I see your reply.

    1. Do we have your permission to contact you by email if necessary?
    2. If necessary, do we have permission to access your Garmin Connect Account?

    Thank you!

  • That would be great. Yes to both questions

  • Sure! I managed to get this unwedged yesterday after connecting to the PC with an USB cable (I wanted to get the activity .fit file off of it by hand) and using Garmin Express to "Clear Upload History", then updating/syncing in Express.

I noticed the activity in Connect does NOT list the HRM-Pro as an active device - it would usually do this for running/biking, but I'm not sure if it is supposed to show up for these kind of post-activity-HRM-sync cases. The HR graph does look cleaner than it would do for wrist HR.

  • I can confirm I had the same issue yesterday in my swim with a HRM Swim duplicating two files after I downloaded manually the HM data.

    YEs on both questions
