Bug: Flightmode not working

I put the 955 Solar in Flightmode to see, if it gains battery percentage if exposed to the sun (watercooled) the whole day.

Despite the watch is in flightmode, the connect app shows "connected" and syncs with the watch. Also messages are displayed on the watch.

Hope Garmin is able to get their software sorted, as this is a rather basic functionallity...

  • I noticed the same thing this morning. The watch is in flightmode all the time, I sync once a  day. Last night it asked to Relax, did that and this morning I noticed that activity (Relax and Focus) from last night in the Connect app when I tried to insert new weight value this morning.

  • this is a bug that continues to exist on the 945LTE so it seems to have carried over. i'm surprised they haven't yet fixed it.

off topic, but mentioned in your post: what did you discover with your whole day of sun soaking your watch? i have found that Solar can in fact be the "real deal" when i've had significant time in the sun. best insolation seems to occur when driving or cycling where i can get consistent sun exposure. running is decent (although i usually run early in the morning) although of course very dependent on angle of the sun and my running path, etc.

i would imagine that if you leave the watch facing the sun for the bulk of the day, there would be a significant uptick in battery capacity, especially with the low power watch face shown in your picture.
