Not with that watch face, you will need to use another watch face. I switched to the one that looks like the old one, you can even disable seconds with it now, but then for some reason it's missing the bars, but not really missing them.
New default watch face is pretty nice, but not being able disable the hands and get normal seconds was too much for me.
