Power Manager is documented as available for 955, but it's not fully functional.

The docs list the 955 as having full power manager functionality, and the 945 LTE and 255 are specifically mentioned as not having that feature.

  • Forerunner 255 series1
  • Forerunner 945 and 945 LTE1
  • Forerunner 955/955 Solar

"'1 The Forerunner 945/945 LTE, and the 255 series only feature the Battery Saver option of Power Manager. Power Modes and Battery Alerts options are not featured on these watches." (from https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=UKdcLjyUEZ4xdiX5HWzgp7)

However, the battery saver feature doesn't seem to show up at all on my 945 and the 955 I have in hand only has the battery saver option, not the full power manager.

Is power manager in the pipeline, or is it a documentation bug?

  • Waiting for this too, was hoping it would show up in the beta software

  • sadly, i think this documentation is correct. previously, if you looked at the manual of the 945LTE, there is a suggestion of some Power Manager features including one where the watch can be set to go into Battery Saver mode during sleeping hours (eg, using bare bones watch face, disabling BT, etc.) in the owner's manual. i inquired with product support multiple times and they at first thought i was missing the setting because the manual mimicked what the Fenix 6 could do. however, ultimately, they said my watch was doing what it was capable of doing and that feature/option was not available. this new documentation seems to cement that vantage point, much to my disappointment. (i sold my 945LTE for my friend).

i hold out hope that the power manager will come to the 955 Solar (seems that they would want to provide this feature to owners who paid top dollar to get the most battery endurance), but i'm not holding my breathe.

  • It’s still with 12.23 crippled! Only a function limited battery saver profile.

I missing most the battery saver “during sleep” function and low battery alert off.

And for example downhill skiing I think a jacket mode is needed.

  • Agreed - it’s not really good enough. Hopefully they bring that functionality in future update.
