Switching from wrist to ANT+. What reading takes precedence?

I'm able to pair ANT+ strap successfully. But, do I need to turn off wrist monitor to have readings come from ANT ? Or does the ANT+ reading take precedence over wrist optical sensor? And is precedence same whether I am in an activity (run) or not ?

When you start activity the watch will recognize paired HR strap and switch off the optical HR sensor automatically. You don't need to switch OHR manually. If you want both sensors running during activity and recording data you have to install Auxiliary Heart Rate data field:

But in this case optical HR will have priority and the watch will not be able to use strip HR data to e. g. calculate lactate threshold etc.
