New gps 2.60 and 18.71 firmware for fenix 5

Better open swim tracking with this gps and firmware. Usually 935 soon follows fenix 5 releases but now seems than 935 firmware is freezed. No more firmware updates. The standard firmware page is outdated www8.garmin.com/.../download_details.jsp shows 14.10 while we are at 15.10. What is going ? Why Garmin works no more on 935?

The F5 beta just rolled out today. Usually the FR935 is a couple days behind the F5 beta. Since this beta enables the release of the GPS 2.60 FW, it is very certain that it will come to the FR935. The only question is when.

Not so sure we are a lot behind: 4 releases. 935 still on 15.10 fenix 5 15.31 --- 15.40 --- 15.41 ---- 18.71

Have a little patience. In the past 2 years, the FR935 has got every production release the F5 got except for 15.40 which was halted at 25% rollout due to an issue. Thus the additional betas. In that same time line the FR935 did not get all the same beta releases, when it did, the production release was usually pretty close.

Let them work out the bugs on the Fenix line and wait for the benefit. Since the beta indicates the next release is required to update to the next release of the GPS FW to give the OWS, I am certain we will get another FW update, I just don't know when it will drop.

Looks like 19.00 is starting the roll out. Just a few hours after the final release for the F5.

You will have to sync your watch, install FW 19.00, then reconnect your watch to GE and sync it again. You may have to check the SW update menu to see if it is ready to install. If it does not prompt you, you may need to disconnect and reconnect and sync a couple times. It will eventually update but only after installing version 19.00.
