Garmin Forerunner 955 Status

The 945 is 10 months old. My guess is at least another year. 

You posted this in the 945 forum as well. The answer with Garmin is always 'tomorrow'

I’m waiting for the same thing to see if the 955’s battery will have more than 36 hours or not in 1 second GPS mode that the 945 already has. Longer battery life is the main thing I’m looking for.  If the 955 only has 36 hours, I’ll probably just keep my 935 although 36 hours is better than 24 hours that the 935 has currently.

Word on the street is that launch date for the Forerunner 955 will be September 7, 2020.  This is from the FCC request, and approval granted several weeks ago.  Garmin had the FCC embargo all entails until September 7.  All of this was prior to the ransomware attack.  I hope that doesn’t delay the release.

Still not out...  too bad.  Hopefully out soon.  Has anyone heard any updates on when the 955 might be released?

I think 955 will not be released this year as Garmin just released 745.

We've now seen the 745 announcement, so can probably guess the 955 isn't coming really soon - but who knows?

The FCC item is still interesting too, it seemed to imply a watch with Wifi and one without.  The confidentiality date has also been moved to the 23rd, I think, so perhaps it is actually the variants for the upcoming square Venu (VenuSq?).
