GPX file naming convention?

I use activity GPS tracks from my 935 to geocode images I've taken with my camera. (Very nice accuracy; better than I get using a smartphone GPX track app). I'd like to know what convention Garmin uses in naming GPX tracks exported from Garmin Connect.

It appears that FIT files on the watch use some kind of global sequence to ensure each file is unique. The GPX files exported from GC have a name like 'activity_1984689497.gpx'. Is there any logic to this naming, or is this just another instance of a global sequence?
  • There is logic apparently. There have been some posts in the past about this although more with reference to the .fit files saved after an activity. Either do some digging, or wait until some who cares more to chime in and do the work for you. I'm unsure if the same convention will apply to the exported GPX tracks.
