735 still worth buying?

Hi,

i am thinking about buying the 735XT.

Mainly I would like to use it for biking and navigation.

Is it still worth it, does the watch work ok for cycling?

Quite recently I received a refurbished 735xt as a replacement for a broken unit, and since in the meantime I bought another watch, I gave the 735 XT to a friend of mine who is a cyclist, and he's super-happy with it. So, if you can get it cheap (certainly not the official retail price), I can recommend it.

as far as i understand the watch has very limited navigation capacities compared to the edge series... correct?

Depends on which edge device you have in mind, but yes, the FR735xt has no mapping capability, and the only navigation feature available is navigating on an uploaded pre-planned course. The other disadvantage is that a small display worn on wrist is quite non-ergonomic, compared to a handlebar mounted bike computer.
