Battery draining when turned off

I have a one-year Forerunner 735XT which worked fine until last week. Suddenly, the watch started draining its battery overnight, even though it is turned off. The device seems to be consuming the battery at a normal rate when it is on and when I am working out, even with GPS and bluetooth on. Any ideas? Thanks!

Note that the watch still draws power to maintain time even when off. But the key word used was "suddenly" as this isn't much power. If a soft/hard reset don't resolve it, this would suggest your battery is faulty or the device may have been damaged by shorting the pins when connecting the charger.

The battery on my Forerunner 235 will not hold a charge. I need to send it in for repair. Please advise.
