Help Recovering Invalid Activity

Hi,

After a tough run, I stopped my activity and attempted to save it. After a few moments it looked as if all my step data and health data was lost for the past few hours and my activity had been deleted.

When I got home I noticed that I had an invalid activity in the history that had 0 miles. I plugged my Garmin 735xt into the computer and found the file from today.

Any chance that this file can be recovered still, so I can review the activity? I'm not sure how to best attach a file or send it through this forum.

  • First of all in the list of activities (https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities) I cannot change the activity type to Running as running is not there in the list

Please post a screenshot of what you're seeing. I don't think we're on the same page.

Not sure which file you're trying to import but if you got it from FIT File Tools, then download it, you'll get a file called fitfiletools.zip. You will need to first unzip the file to get the fit file within so you can import it.

The file is buggered I'm afraid.

Tested on my own Garmin account...

  • Thank you - that worked. I used the FIT File Tools (section remover) and it did not give me a zip file; it gave me a .fit file immediately when I clicked download. The file was fine to upload to garmin connect except for the activity type which I was unable to set to running (it was not in the list like you had it in your screenshot).

In any case - thank you for taking the time to fix my file. This is much appreciated!
