Rotating menus when selecting the down arrow Menu button

When I select an activity such as Run, then I select the down arrow Menu button all of the Menu options keep automatically rotating in a continuous cycle making it very difficult to select any of the options.

I am unable to select a different activity from the up arrow Activity options either

So I wonder if the up/down selection buttons are not working properly.

I had the same problem and everything points to a problem with the button membrane. I think water came in because within a few weeks it started to die and didn't even take a GPS signal.
I thought it was waterproof

I took advantage of a discount to buy a Forerunner 945 because Garmin charged me € 140 for a new 735XT and decided it would be wasting money.

Yes I am fairly sure water is the problem as it seemed to happen around the time of a pool swim session. Luckily mine was less than a year old so got a replacement but a cost of a "processing fee" of $50 USD.
