I had contacted garmin support and after a long while they told me than they could not help.
Their final answer was:
I'm really sorry this is happening but as our devices do not use data, this is a notification that is being initiated by your phones network. We are unable to assist in preventing this from occurring.
I would advise contacting your service provider/handset supplier to see if they can prevent this notification being generated.

Anybody had found a solution for this?
Only current solution......I had to disconnect the bluetooth on the phone but I didn't buy a watch to have it disconnected.
