Can I follow a training plan which will monitor HR zone while using navigation on the watch?

Have a marathon training plan on the go at the moment, with the plan uploaded onto my forerunner. I am new to the area I now live in, so have plotted a route for an 18 mile long run tomorrow, but have just realised I need to set the workout going on my watch, and also follow navigation to avoid getting lost! Anyone know if you can do both at the same time?
