Workouts not syncing to 735XT via Connect

I can create workouts fine on Garmin Connect on iOS, but syncing them to my 735XT via Connect / Bluetooth - just doesn't want to happen. Watch appears to be syncing but after 30s or so I get Transfer Failed. I've tried using the "Send workout to device" option, but same issue.

If I connect via Garmin Express and sync that way, all is good - workout is ready to use on the 735XT.

Always been the case, despite software updates etc.

Anyone else had this?

Not all workouts will sync, I believe a strength workout won't as it's not supported by the watch.

I’m having this issue now with my Garmin Forerunner 245. Workouts and courses have synced successfully via GC on my iPhone for years. Suddenly now only will sync via USB Garmin Express. I get a FileTransferError timeout message.
