Pairing with HRM-FIT

I've just bought a 570 but cant pair it with my HRM-Fit. It paired with my Forerunner 55 but, having unpaired that, can't pair it with my new watch. I've been through every troubleshooting option without success - any thoughts

Sorted - the battery had a sticker on it which hadn't been a problem in the past but was this time.

To confirm, did you try the steps in the article above for help with pairing?

If you did try the steps and it is still not recognizing the chest strap, can you try to change the battery to see if that makes any difference? You can use this link for a video on how to change it.

Hello!

I just purchased the Garmin Forerunner 570 a few weeks ago, ran a half marathon this morning and the workout didn't sync to the app. After much research, trial and error and reaching out to Garmin Support, I've determined that the FIT file is corrupt and can't be manually uploaded through the web based site. I see there is a FIT file repair tool. I visited the website to try and download but this information is way above my understanding or know how. Have to say feeling a little disappointed with the Garmin so far. Any other recommendations of how to get the file fixed that may be a little easier for those that aren't computer savvy? Thanks for your help!

Forerunner 570 screen glitching and going black but staying responsive

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar or can offer advice.

I’ve been having an issue with my Forerunner 570 where the screen goes glitches and goes black (even when prompted to wake) only when it enters sleep mode. The strange part is that the device still seems responsive - i.e. when I press buttons, I can feel the haptic feedback, so I know it’s registering inputs, but the display remains totally black.

I've contacted Garmin Support, but they’re asking for video proof that the device is still responsive while the screen is black. That’s where I’m stuck: since the haptics don’t make any noise and the screen shows nothing, I’m not sure how to actually prove that it’s working.

I’ve already sent them a folder with info/logs from the device, but they say they can’t move forward without visual proof of the issue (i.e., of the haptics working during the black screen state).

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the 570 (or similar Garmin devices)?

Also, if anyone has any tips on:

How to capture proof that the haptics are working when the screen is off
Whether this is a known issue with a workaround or fix
Any tricks to force the screen back on without a full reboot

…I’d really appreciate the help.

Hi, I'm having the same issue. You can still start workouts etc. I've realised that the sound also works, so if you could schedule an alarm that goes off when it is in the sleep state, you have the sound, the complete black screen and if you are familiar with the layout and functions of the watch you can turn it off. That's how I'd do it...

I would recommend making sure that the software is up to date on the Forerunner 570, the software it should be on is 16.37. You can update this on the watch or using Garmin Express which is only available on a computer.

With the watch up to date, you can try the troubleshooting tips in this link to help.

I think I figured it out. Haven't fully tested it yet but I got my watch to vibrate when GPS signal locked. Unfortunately I thought of this while running this morning and will test tomorrow.

Menu > Watch Settings > Focus Modes > Activity > Alerts and Tones > Off

Lap alert notification sound

Hi,

I recently upgraded from FR265 to FR570, mainly due to the screen size (I prefer 42 mm). I am overall happy with the watch, but I prefer the old notification sounds when starting/stopping an activity and for lap notification. I can't find a way to change this, only turn it off. Am I missing something? If not, I would appreciate if Garmin could implement this option.

Altitude issue

Hi, I have an issue with FR570 altitude measurement, especially in trial running. It always increases the incline. Example trial run below, the same training 16 km, one loop, the same start and finish time and spot, two garmin watches: FR570 and ENDURO3.

FR570 shows invline of 430 m, drop of 307, ENDURO3 shows include of 306 m and drop of 308 m. Is there any way to fix it?

In the last two weeks, my suggested Recovery time following cycling or running workouts has been 2x -3x longer than is normal for me. I don't believe there is a medical/physical issue as I feel no different during/after these workouts than I did two weeks ago. Anyone having a similar issue?

I recently asked this question on this forum and was unable to get an answer. I would love for it not to beep. I have all the sounds turned off on my watch. Only vibrations are on. But these beeps persist. I went on the Garmin feature suggestion and submitted a request to have lap alerts have a vibrate option.

Can i schedule a Triathlon workout with set distances?

I recently purchased the Forerunner 570. Trying to set up a workout schedule. I would like to add a workout that includes swim, bike, run for set distances. I see that I can "start activity" and choose "triathlon" and it will auto detect transitions, so I'm assuming it will work on-the-fly but what if I want to put a workout on the calendar? Is that possible?

Hello everyone!
My competition calendar does not display some events periodically. I have to send these events to FR570 once every 2-3 weeks.
It is also not very critical that the event icon does not match the event.
I have attached photos from Garmin connect and FR 570.

As you can see from the photo, I have 3 events in Garmin connect and only 2 events in FR570, although I downloaded everything on my watch. Events just disappear periodically.

Is it possible to disable the beeps during activities. I like having the automatic lap alert when I run but would prefer just vibration. I've been through all the menus and have disabled all the sound options that I can find.

Green sensor flashing continuously

I have inactivated the wrist hrm and the oximeter, but the green light below are still flashing . Do you know what else I have to do ? The battery drains quickly. Is this an error or is there any other setup that I must inactivate ?

The battery on the 570 should last 10-11 days (42mm vs 47mm) in Smart Watch mode. This is based off not using Always On for the Display and the number of interactions you have with your watch and your watch has with your phone. Garmin does lay this out on their website. The easiest way to increase your battery life is to not use pulse ox (which you say your not) and not use always on display. Beyond that you can limit the number of notifications your watch is getting or just turn off the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and only sync your watch on demand. If your battery truly is not lasting as long as it should, you should contact Garmin support.

Did you build this on Garmin Connect? I've had the most success with something like this creating it as a "new" sport directly on my watch. You can copy the multisport activity and then rename it and edit it to your needs. I've done this for a duathlon (run, bike, run).

I'd like to incorporate the following sequence into a multisport event:
Cycling, running, cycling, running, cycling

All activities should be started and stopped exclusively using the lap button.
No primary goal.

However, as soon as I start the second cycling segment, the workout simply ends.

Am I doing something wrong?
Or does anyone have a good tip for implementing this?
