I have been experiencing an issue with my Forerunner 570 during pool swimming activities while running software version 17.33.

During the swim, the displayed distance sometimes becomes stuck at a certain value, even though I continue swimming and completing additional lengths. Several lengths later, the distance suddenly catches up to what appears to be the correct total. After that, it may freeze again and repeat the same behaviour.

For example, in a 25-metre pool, the watch may get stuck at 175 metres and remain there for several lengths. It then suddenly jumps to around 450 metres, which appears to be close to the actual distance completed.

I have already performed a factory reset. This improved the issue slightly, but it still occurs during pool swim workouts.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on version 17.33? Is Garmin aware of it?

Thanks.

Pace and Running Dynamics Freezing

Hi everyone.

I already have a ticket open with Garmin Support.

However, I’d like to know whether other Forerunner 570 users have experienced issues with pace data or other running dynamics during workouts. I’ve been using my watch for less than six months, and it is running the latest software version.

This issue occurred once last week and then again yesterday. Between those two incidents, I completed two running activities without any problems.

When the issue occurs, the current pace field freezes and displays 0:00/km. At the same time, power data stops being recorded. However, average pace and lap average pace continue to update normally throughout the activity.

Has anyone else experienced something similar or found a possible cause?

RE: Pace and Running Dynamics Freezing

Same problem with the Forerunner 970 and Fenix 8.
My schedule is as follows: on the first day, I need to work from 8am to 8pm; The next day is free during the day, and work lasts from 8 pm to 8 am on the third day, after which additional sleep is needed; The fourth day is free all over the sky. This cycle is repeated every 4 days.

At present, I am running in the morning on the second day and at night on the third day. If I run at night on the the fourth day, I will lose sleep, which will affect my work on the next day.

Garmin Run Coach requires at least 5 days of training per week, which has caused me to have many schedules that I cannot complete.

Since using the 570, I have been training according to daily suggestion, but I truly want to improve my pace. Although its schedule is also dynamically adjusted, but daily suggestion cannot set a goal. Similarly, suggestion need to set training days, and I hope Garmin can provide a periodic option for people like me.

"Wake of Gesture" not sensitive enough

Twisting my wrist to wake up the watch face of my FR570 isn't effective unless I really shake my hand.

No, I'll stick to the OEM watch faces for reasons I've explained in the other post.
Did you perform a forced reset, the one where you hold the light button until the device turns off completely (15 to 30 seconds holding) and then turned it on and tested to see if the gesture function resumed normal functionality?
Yes.

Thanks KS so this cannot be adjusted.

This 570 watch was offered to me by my wife as an upgrade to the 255 I've been using since 2022. To me, the functions are almost identical and the real benefit of the 570 over the 255 is the MOLED screen, at the painful cost of, everything else equal, a battery life reduced by more than half (and that's after using my 255 for 4 years). The only way to have battery life back to 10 days (again, everything else equal) is turning off the watch face and use the Wake on Gesture function which doesn't seem optimal to me. I understand Garmin has to strike a balance between not waking up the watch too easily or this will deceive its purpose. Drawback is... I feel it doesn't wake up easily enough. This is a drag to my experience and because of this I feel so far that this watch is rather a downgrade for me, not an upgrade. But ok... let's see if I can get used to it, after all, it's been only 3 days.

RE: Watch faces query
I've had some experiences with unofficial Garmin watch faces, and what I can say is that depending on the watch face chosen, you can even lose performance from the watch.
Thanks, I think the problem overall is that the definition linked by Garmin above (thank you for it KS 👍) doesn't provide anything about what it is that these background activities might include, which is to be expected, Garmin isn't going to take the risk of commenting on what third parties might or might not do with their product obviously.

I don't know how secure that is and I don't think there's a way for me to be sure so, same as you I've decided to stick to the OEM watch faces.

Watch faces query

Hello, I upgraded yesterday from an aging 255 to a 570.

I asked the shop assistant if the 570 did the lap counting in the pool and he assured me it did but I have not been successful in achieving that have you and can you help me? The product support has been less than helpful sadly. My laps seems to completely random if at all. I swim c1600m each time I go and it would be nice to see the breakdown in my pace over the exercise. Please follow these steps:

Plug device into the computer.

If necessary, manually engage mass storage mode using these steps: Garmin Watch Not Detected by Garmin Express on a Windows Computer

Access the Garmin drive once the device communicates with your computer.

Windows: Windows Key + E to open File Explorer. Select This PC. Open the Garmin drive labeled as your device model.

Select the Garmin Folder.

Locate the NewFiles folder but do not open it.

Delete the NewFiles folder.

Delete the entire NewFiles folder, not just the contents.

Disconnect device from your computer and allow it to boot up.

The device should now proceed past the startup screen.

precisão de corrida indoor

Olá Suporte Garmin,

For example:

I want to set fast pace at 4:30 and slow pace at 4:45, but if I set fast to 4:30, when I try to set slow to 4:45, it automaticaly changes the slow pace for 4:15. Always with a 30 seconds diference.

Hi everyone
Anyone else suffering with this turtle watch?

Yes, because the main menus don't flow naturally, they freeze... they stutter
And it got worse with 17.33!!

So Garmin??? When will this watch work normally?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::
> Low touchscreen sensitivity in some of the main menus (sometimes only responds on the second or third touch);

> Failure or slowness in touch response (or ZERO response) on the first touch on the screen:

> The system continues to show slowness and poor fluidity with small freezes in some of the main menus, see below:

* Main screen (drag your finger upwards for example); already shows slowness
* Menu: history of the last 7 days;* Menu this week: history of the last runs (requires data loading, becomes slow); * Previous activities screen; activity selection screen (sports)
* Menu: Disposition
* Menu: Health (body battery)
* Menu: Garmin Coach

Top right button (sports selection)
* Extremely slow; touch response is poor; stutters when scrolling up and down the menu; stutters after clicking on a function;

RE: Worsening fluidity after update 17.33. How long has it been since the launch and they still haven't fixed this??

What are you defending?

I have access to my brother's FR 265... and it doesn't have the problems that the FR 570 has...
And we have to accept this?

The video in the post I attached above, do you think this is normal??? Paying double or triple the price of an Amazfit, but with bugs that give you an experience that makes you angry...?? Ahhh, just because Garmin has a body battery and jet lag that makes a difference and is worth the price?? Have mercy!
Only by using it daily will you understand!

Even the screen isn't working properly... things like that are fundamental, they have to be perfect! And then you realize that some menus work perfectly and others don't... it's clear that it's a software issue...

And I don't even trust this device that much anymore, there are metrics I don't trust anymore... And the sleep?? The sleep metrics??

Man, Garmin should get a 10/10 on all its devices in terms of sleep, but they measure poorly according to so many reviews... my Huawei GT Runner is much more competent...

But I bought my dream Garmin... and this is what came...

And it used to be worse, phew!

RE: Worsening fluidity after update 17.33. Old versions and new ones alike—leave them alone! There’s nothing wrong with them!
They work exactly the way they’re supposed to!
Sure, Garmin watches aren't as fast as your "transgender-correct" Apple Watches...
...but Garmin watches have completely different tasks to handle! Stop writing nonsense!
Don't like how the touchscreen works? Then use the buttons—that's what they were invented for!
You can control everything on the watch using the buttons!
Without any issues or hassles!
