I would like to report several issues that I have experienced on my Garmin Forerunner 570 since updating to software version 17.33. Prior to version 17.33, I did not encounter any of these problems.

1. Strength Training activity cannot be stopped after long sessions

 During longer strength training workouts, the Start/Stop button sometimes stops responding. As a result, it is no longer possible to end the activity normally. The only workaround I have found is to start a rest period and wait for some time, after which the activity can eventually be stopped again.

2. Daily Suggested Workout not always displayed

 When starting a running activity, the Daily Suggested Workout is sometimes not shown, even though it would normally be available.

3. Training Status – Load Focus appears incorrect

 The Load Focus metrics do not seem to reflect my actual training. Despite completing many anaerobic running workouts, the watch still reports an anaerobic shortage. This makes me question whether the anaerobic load is being calculated correctly.

4. Focus Modes cannot be activated for non-Garmin activity apps

 It appears that Focus Modes can only be used with Garmin activities. I am unable to activate or use Focus Modes with activities from third-party apps. I am not sure whether this is an intended limitation or a bug.

5. Sleep/Night display sometimes does not show battery percentage

 The Sleep/Night display occasionally fails to show the battery status. At times, the battery percentage is simply missing from the screen.

All of these issues started after installing software version 17.33. Before this update, the watch operated normally and I did not experience any of the problems listed above.

Could you please investigate these issues and let me know whether they are known bugs or if additional diagnostic information would be helpful?

Kind regards,

Paul

Worsening fluidity after update 17.33.
Hi everyone
Anyone else suffering with this turtle watch?

Yes, because the main menus don't flow naturally, they freeze... they stutter
And it got worse with 17.33!!

So Garmin??? When will this watch work normally?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::
> Low touchscreen sensitivity in some of the main menus (sometimes only responds on the second or third touch);

> Failure or slowness in touch response (or ZERO response) on the first touch on the screen:

> The system continues to show slowness and poor fluidity with small freezes in some of the main menus, see below:

* Main screen (drag your finger upwards for example); already shows slowness
* Menu: history of the last 7 days;* Menu this week: history of the last runs (requires data loading, becomes slow); * Previous activities screen; activity selection screen (sports)
* Menu: Disposition
* Menu: Health (body battery)
* Menu: Garmin Coach

Top right button (sports selection)
* Extremely slow; touch response is poor; stutters when scrolling up and down the menu; stutters after clicking on a function;

vibration doesn't stop

During Training Forerunner 570 vibrates for a message and won't stop until another message with vibration occurs.
Since few weeks, I'm getting inaccurate elevation gain readings for my activities. It's really annoying—I have to correct them through the Garmin Connect website and use the DEM data if I want consistent results. I contacted support, but they didn't do anything. Has anyone else had this issue?

I used a FR265 for an 18 week half marathon training block. Training readiness always made sense with: sleep, load, stress, etc.

Last week recovery time and acute load do not make sense or match my experience. My readiness score has pegged at "!"

After a race in April, I had a slight injury that I was recuperating from, and I upgraded to this FR 570. Over the course of a couple of week the new FR570 eventually gave me a Readiness Score of 45. It creeped up to the 70s for a few days, Then the 50s for a few days. Then the 30s for a few days. I started some light running and it fluctuated between the 60s and the 30s for a week or so, Then about a week ago it plunged to "1" and for the last five days it has been stuck at "1".

The numbers it is gathering are broken somehow. I've been doing light recovery exercise, I had some time off of work and napped a bit more than usual. No stress no strain and it is pegged at "1"

Last night it reports:

Sleep 77

Recovery time 54 hrs

HRV unbalanced

Acute load 731 (very high)

Recent sleep fair

Recent stress low

What can mess with Acute Load and Recovery time?

I've been taking it easy and working out gently for most of the last several days

Forerunner 570 Series Software Version 17.33 - Live

Software version 17.33 is now available for Forerunner 570 Series.

I wanted to post about some notification issues I’ve been having with my Garmin Forerunner 570 when paired with an Apple iPhone to see if others are experiencing the same thing.

Issues I’m seeing

Notifications sometimes stop appearing completely

Delayed alerts for texts and apps

Incoming call notifications are inconsistent

Some app notifications appear, others never arrive

Notifications may work after reconnecting Bluetooth, then fail again later

Occasionally the watch shows “Phone disconnected” even when the iPhone is nearby

Things I already tried

Rebooting both the watch and iPhone

Removing and re-pairing the watch

Reinstalling the Garmin Connect app

Checking iPhone notification permissions

Disabling/re-enabling Bluetooth

Making sure Background App Refresh is enabled

Updating both iPhone iOS and Garmin firmware

Reset configurations in both

My setup

Device: Garmin Forerunner 570

Phone: iPhone 17 Pro

Garmin Connect version: Last version

iOS version: Last version

I’m mainly posting to find out:

Are other iPhone users seeing the same notification reliability issues?

Did anyone find a stable fix?

Is this related to a recent firmware or iOS update?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

No cadence data during run activity

On a couple of occasions, during run activities, my cadence on the watch displayed as zero. The first time this happened, it was intermittent. But yesterday, my cadence read as zero during the entire run. After I completed the run, I checked the step display on my Home Screen, and I didn’t get any step increase, so the entire run must have registered as zero.
For some reason the activities like Pilates, HIIT are not syncing automatically to Strava. With my Apple Watch, those activities synced at the same time as I've finish it.

I've already done all the usual procedures (uninstall, install, login, reconnect both app either my mobile app as web) and the activity is not sync.

I can see on Connect app as soon as I've finish the activity, but not at Strava. Same activity setting for Pilates and HIIT is done for Running and Walking which is going without any issue.

My friend who has the 265S, when registering Pilates or ay other activity different from Running, it goes without any problem.

I've read frm some AI app consultation that activities different from Running and Walking are storage in a different way where Strava can't read it. Not sure how accurate this is or if it's just a obvious interpretation.

Software and app all update with the last version.

Does anybody else experiencing the same issue? I've checked all the possibilites and I don't know what else could be the issue.

I configured my new 570 last night. I expect I'll be around from here on out.

I felt my FR265 was the best Garmin I've ever used. It wasn't broken, confounding, and had useful features. Nowadays I'm mostly running, but I've used Strength, OWS and cycling in the past. A tiny bit of yoga (It is not good for me to have a watch on whilest doing yoga poses) and a tiny bit of the breathwork/meditation apps.

I wish I could have a more text-based less cartoonist watch face, I was looking around at them last night. The 'make a face' was pretty good, except the complications data were tiny, while the clock font was large. That's it so far.

Enjoy your 570 ya'll

Source switching on Forerunner 570 using HRM 200

I've been using my Forerunner 570 with an HRM 200 on all my runs and bike rides. I've got source switching turned on, and have been examining the resulting fit files using fitfileviewer. Fitfileviewer allows you to see the HR tracks from both the external HR monitor and the optical sensor, as well as the track that watch has ultimately decided to use. What I've noticed is that on bike rides, the watch almost always prefers the data from the HRM 200, which doesn't surprise me at all. I would expect that it would think the strap would be more accurate. What does surprise me however, is that on most all of my regular runs and trail runs, the watch seems to prefer the data from optical sensor, even when the data from the strap looks perfectly reasonable. I would have thought that the strap would be the go-to source for most activities unless the watch detected it was really inaccurate. Note that I wear the strap the same way for all activities, wet the contacts just before I head out the door, and seem to have a good connection between strap and watch. Curious if anyone else has noticed this behavior.

Feature request Heart rate zones history

Description:

Add the ability to view the history of heart rate zone changes in both the Garmin Connect mobile and web applications.

Context & Justification:

Currently, Garmin automatically evaluates and shifts heart rate zones based on the user's workouts and current fitness level. These automatic adjustments have a direct impact on which activities, and at what intensity, are counted toward "Intensity Minutes" (Vigorous Minutes).

However, users currently have no overview of how these zones have evolved over time. Tracking this history is important for analyzing long-term training progress because:

It allows users to understand how the difficulty of achieving intensity minutes has changed over time.

It provides better context when comparing historical training data.

Proposed Solution:

History View: Add a sub-section or timeline in the Heart Rate section containing the history of zone changes.

Change Details: The record should include the date of the adjustment and the values (heart rate beats per minute) for each zone (from Zone 1 to Zone 5).

Visual Comparison: Provide an option to compare the evolution of these zones with other metrics (e.g., VO2 Max or Resting Heart Rate over time).

Business Value:

Improves user experience and provides deeper insight into the user's physiological data, which is crucial for Garmin's target audience.

Intensity minutes not recognised

I recorded a HIIT activity today however it is not recognised in as Intensity Minutes. Trying to set up a workout schedule. I would like to add a workout that includes swim, bike, run for set distances. I see that I can "start activity" and choose "triathlon" and it will auto detect transitions, so I'm assuming it will work on-the-fly but what if I want to put a workout on the calendar? Is that possible?

Beeps during activities

Is it possible to disable the beeps during activities. I like having the automatic lap alert when I run but would prefer just vibration. I've been through all the menus and have disabled all the sound options that I can find.
