Both mine and my wife’s forerunner audio voice prompt have stopped working after the most recent update. Has this happened to anybody else having this issue?

Both mine and my wife’s forerunner 570 have stopped giving audio prompt such as pacing and heart rate after the most recent update. Anybody having this issue or does anybody have any possible solutions? This is a must have feature for us and so disappointing that we’re been having so much issue with it.

Hi guys, first post here, I am an apple ultra and work outdoors app user for the past 7 years. Just changed to Garmin an trying to get my head round the set up. I have tried Garmin support for this but they simply could not understand my request.

Ok so i found how to change the data screen fields i see during a run and thats great. I have discovered that during a structured workout Garmin calls what i would have called intervals STEPS. ( this created great confusion on the support chat as they believed i was asking about steps taken during a day)

Ok so in the menu i found i can display information about the current step i am in. Let’s say the workout was 1. Warm up at conversational pace 2KM 2. Run at 5M/km pace for 1KM, 3 Run at 6M/km pace for 500meters. 4.Run at 4:30M/KM pace for 3KM

Is there a way to add STEP DISTANCE. Either distanced traveled in that step or distance left ( as the watch seems to do natively for warm ups and cool downs??????)

After this new update on my watch it deleted all my saved wifi routers, and now i cannot reconnect to any of them, when I try to add a network i get an instant "connection error" on the watch

Second track skip mutes audio (PowerBeats Pro 2 + Forerunner 570) — precise repro steps

I've been able to pin down the exact behavior of this bug, which seems related to the "skip mutes audio" issue reported on other Garmin devices (Fenix 8, FR970) with AirPods/PowerBeats.

Setup: Forerunner 570, latest firmware, PowerBeats Pro 2, latest firmware, music played from watch storage.

Repro steps:

Start playing a song.
Double-press the earbud button to skip to the next track → works correctly, track changes and plays normally.
Double-press again to skip to the next track → audio mutes. The watch screen still shows the track progressing (as if playing normally), but no sound comes through the earbuds.

To recover from the mute:
4. Press once on the earbud (pause).
5. Press once on the earbud (play).
6. One of these two presses is usually not registered correctly — instead of pausing/playing once, the watch UI flickers rapidly between pause/play icons, meaning the command didn't land cleanly. So in practice it takes 3 presses total (pause, play, then one more) to get audio back.
7. After that, the song resumes normally and skipping/audio work fine again until the same pattern repeats.

VO2 Max Not Showing and Garmin Coach Workouts Not Appearing After Treadmill Benchmark Run

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Garmin Forerunner 570 last Monday. So far, I’ve done two treadmill runs, each around 3 km.

However, my VO2 max hasn’t been calculated/shown yet. I also did my Garmin Coach Benchmark Run on the treadmill, but after completing it, the planned workouts for the following days still haven’t appeared.

I’m wondering if this is because I’m doing all my runs on a treadmill. Does the Garmin Coach Benchmark Run need to be done outdoors with GPS in order for the VO2 max and upcoming planned workouts to be generated?

Is it possible to follow Garmin Coach entirely with treadmill workouts, or do I need to do the Benchmark Run outdoors first?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Forerunner 570, edited sleep time always becomes Light Sleep

My Forerunner 570 ended my sleep early even though I continued sleeping.

Misidentifying a wake-up occasionally is understandable, especially for people like me who do not always sleep continuously or on a perfectly predictable schedule. That is exactly why being able to manually correct the sleep period accurately is important.

I corrected the wake time in Garmin Connect, but the entire added period was classified as Light Sleep. Garmin Support confirmed that edited portions of a sleep period will always display as Light Sleep.

I was simultaneously wearing a competing wearable. It also initially misidentified the sleep period, but after I corrected the wake time it used the recorded biometric data to update the sleep stages, including REM and Deep sleep.

So my concern is not that Garmin occasionally gets the wake time wrong. My concern is that when it does, I cannot accurately correct the resulting sleep data. If Garmin decides my sleep has ended when I am actually still sleeping, there appears to be no way to accurately restore the missed period afterward.

Is there any way for Garmin to analyze the data already recorded during the corrected period rather than automatically classifying the entire edited period as Light Sleep?

Forerunner 570 out of zone vibration alert does not cease

Forerunner 570. Latest firmware. Sometimes when I veer out of the specified zone (it doesn't seem to make a difference whether it's HR or zone based), the vibration alert does not stop and the watch just keeps vibrating till I move to the other side of the zone, i.e. get another alert. It's happened thrice out of some 30+ runs, so no idea how to reproduce. It seems to be quite random, but does happen intermittently.

Gmail notifications on Forerunner 570

My Forerunner 570 stopped booting normally after a software update. Here's what's happening:

- The watch does not power on normally anymore.

- If I hold START + LIGHT, the Garmin logo appears briefly, then the screen goes black again.

This repeats every time. - No other button combination produces any visible response on the screen.

What I've already tried: 1. Soft reset: holding the LIGHT button for 25-30+ seconds to force power off, then powering back on - no change.

2. Master/factory reset: holding START/STOP + BACK, then briefly pressing LIGHT to power on, releasing START/STOP on the first beep and BACK on the second beep - the logo still flashes and shuts off before completing the reset.

3. Forcing USB Mass Storage Mode: powering the watch off, holding START while connecting the official USB-C charging/data cable to my computer, and holding for 1-2 minutes - the computer never detects the watch as a drive, even after trying different USB ports, a different cable, and a different computer.

4. Charging: left it plugged into a wall adapter and a computer for over an hour before retrying the above - no change. Battery should not be an issue since it was fully charged before the update. Is there a known fix for this specific boot loop (possibly caused by a corrupted update file in Garmin/RemoteSW), or does this require sending the watch in for service? Any help is appreciated.

Navigation and background

I used to have a Garmin 255S and now I have the 570. I find the 570 much harder to use for navigation because of the black background, particularly in bright sunlight. As far as I can tell, there's no way to change the background to white. Am I missing something? Perhaps there's a Connect IQ app that can do this?

Also, is there any way to change the color of the navigation route/track line? That could make it easier to see in bright conditions.

incorrect Acute Load

Several running sessions were recorded not on the day of the end of the workout, but a week earlier. Garmin Forerunner 570 – Treadmill calibration seems permanently corrupted after one bad calibration

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help because I’m completely out of ideas.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 570 running software version 17.33.

Everything started after I accidentally entered the wrong treadmill distance when calibrating a treadmill run. Since then, my treadmill pace has been completely wrong, and I haven’t been able to fix it despite trying everything I can think of.

Symptoms

In Treadmill Run mode, the watch immediately shows an incorrect pace from the very beginning of the workout.
For example, when the treadmill is set to 6:20 min/km, the watch reports around 4:40–4:50 min/km.
The error appears within the first few seconds, before any meaningful distance has been covered.

What I’ve already tried

Calibrated and saved the correct treadmill distance after multiple runs.
Deleted the original workout that caused the issue (both from the watch and Garmin Connect).
Reset the Treadmill Run activity settings.
Completed several 30–60 minute outdoor GPS runs with perfectly accurate pace and distance.
I wear the watch normally, snug on my wrist, with natural arm swing.
I do not hold the treadmill handrails.
I do not use any external sensors (no Stryd, no foot pod, no HRM pace source).

Very important observation

If I start a Treadmill Walk activity and then run instead of walk, the displayed pace is actually correct.

The problem only exists in the Treadmill Run activity profile.

Garmin Support

I contacted Garmin support, but they only suggested performing a full factory reset of the watch. Before doing that, I’d like to know whether anyone has experienced the same issue.

My questions

Has anyone seen this exact behavior before?
Is there any way to reset only the treadmill calibration data without factory resetting the entire watch?
Is this a known bug in software version 17.33?
Did a factory reset actually fix the issue for anyone?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pool swim distance freezes and catches up several lengths later – Software 17.33

Hi,

I have been experiencing an issue with my Forerunner 570 during pool swimming activities while running software version 17.33.

During the swim, the displayed distance sometimes becomes stuck at a certain value, even though I continue swimming and completing additional lengths. Several lengths later, the distance suddenly catches up to what appears to be the correct total. After that, it may freeze again and repeat the same behaviour.

For example, in a 25-metre pool, the watch may get stuck at 175 metres and remain there for several lengths. It then suddenly jumps to around 450 metres, which appears to be close to the actual distance completed.

I have already performed a factory reset. This improved the issue slightly, but it still occurs during pool swim workouts.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on version 17.33? Is Garmin aware of it?

How to make Garmin Run Coach match my schedule?

I am different from the group of people who work for five days and rest for two days.

My schedule is as follows: on the first day, I need to work from 8am to 8pm; The next day is free during the day, and work lasts from 8 pm to 8 am on the third day, after which additional sleep is needed; The fourth day is free all over the sky. This cycle is repeated every 4 days.

At present, I am running in the morning on the second day and at night on the third day. If I run at night on the the fourth day, I will lose sleep, which will affect my work on the next day.

Garmin Run Coach requires at least 5 days of training per week, which has caused me to have many schedules that I cannot complete.

Since using the 570, I have been training according to daily suggestion, but I truly want to improve my pace. Although its schedule is also dynamically adjusted, but daily suggestion cannot set a goal. Similarly, suggestion need to set training days, and I hope Garmin can provide a periodic option for people like me.

"Wake of Gesture" not sensitive enough

Is there a way to make this function more sensitive ?

Hello, I upgraded yesterday from an aging 255 to a 570.

I'm trying to find a watch face that I like on the Connect IQ app, and find that some of them have a disclaimer "Run in the background when it is not active (potentially affecting battery life)".

Can someone explain what I can expect the watch face to do in these cases ?

From my perspective I don't think there is anything that I would want my watch face to do when I'm not using the watch so I'd be inclined not do download any of these watch faces as a precaution, but...
