Recovery status only visible on watch

Why is it not possible to see my recovery status in the Garmin app? On the watch, it is visible, so now I have to switch to my watch every time I want to know the recovery status (hours to normal training). I would like to see this feature in the app, it is strange because all the other data from the watch is visible in the app.

Race predictor showing no data for past 6 weeks

Hi all, My race predictor on the app(phone) and laptop is not updating with any new data for the past 6 weeks, despite running consistently. On the actual watch, it seems to be stuck around the time of my last race in April so a long was off in terms of prediction. I have tried to resync watch, turned on and off etc.

Lost data during software update

I've just completed a software update on my Forerunner 55 and it lost all activities' data since last update (4 weeks), including steps and sleep. At the same time, it shows correct weekly and monthly totals. Is there any chance to recover lost data?

Bluetooth audio prompts get stuck after Lap 1 – music stays ducked until headphones are disconnected

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a strange issue that started this week.

During my run, when I reach Lap 1, the music volume lowers as it normally does before the lap audio prompt is played. However, the lap prompt never plays, and the music remains permanently at the lower volume.

I discovered a temporary workaround: if I disconnect my Bluetooth headphones at that moment, the missed lap prompt immediately plays through the phone speaker. After reconnecting the headphones, the music volume returns to normal and all subsequent lap prompts work correctly for the rest of the activity.

This has happened on my last two runs and is 100% reproducible so far.

My watch, Garmin Connect app, and phone are all running the latest available software. I've been using the headphones for months, without any problems with the lap prompts.

Has anyone experienced the same issue recently? Is there a known fix, or could this be a regression in a recent Garmin Connect update?

Why did my watch fail to register a huge number of intensity minutes, many of which should have been vigorous

Recently I had my watch recording a walk up several mountains the temperature was approaching 30C in the shade and we were in full sun.

8 hours 35 minutes later 8 intensity minutes recorded 😞 zero vigorous minutes 😞

(1 and a half hours accidentally paused at the top of the first mountain)

I spent several hours with my heart rate exceeding 100bpm - the normal threshold for counting the minutes is around 90bpm.

How come the watch only registered a miserable 8 minutes!

Forerunner 45s

Can anyone help I’ve got my mother in laws garmin watch that I’m trying to fix. It’s a forerunner 45s I plug it in to charge, charges fine but as soon as it’s taken off charge screen just goes black? Displays a triangle at the beginning when turning on? Don’th know what more I can do I’ve reset and factory reset and no joy, could it be a problem with the battery?

Backlight 13%

Beep frequency 4000

Vibration Test

A bunch of concentric color squares

GPS test acceleramator

esn with a qr code thing.

etc.

If so, what method and tools did you use ? The iFixit teardown for the similarly constructed https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Garmin+Forerunner+245+Music+Teardown/150396 seems to indicate that heat and prying alone are rarely successul.

My 3.5 year old watch is shutting down in less than 1 hour during GPS activities and i want to try battery replacement as a last resort, but seems pointless if destroying bits of the case is the only way to open it.

Heart Rate Alert Broken After 11.03 Firmware Update

Is anyone else experiencing this? My watch no longer beeps to alert me when I am running and out of my heart rate zone after last software update 2 weeks or so ago. I rely on this watch to keep my heart rate at certain levels per my cardiologist. I can't believe that they could be releasing fimeware with errata and letting customers beta test and find their bugs. Especially when I am probably not the only one relying on this watch to monitor heart rate during exercise per a doctor's orders. Has anyone found a way to fix this? I have checked all the settings and everything looks right.

Hello everyone. I’m a bit disappointed because my Garmin Forerunner 55 gives me alerts that don’t match my real pace. For example, it says “speed up” or “behind pace,” but when I check the actual pace, it doesn’t match what the watch is telling me.

Maybe the alerts are based on lap pace, but I would like the alerts to refer to the real/instant pace instead.

Does anyone know exactly how to set this up?

Vigorous days under fitness days (average for 6 weeks) only updates when you enter your weight not when you have achieved more vigorous days.

Whilst it is not that accurate VO2 max is clearly calculated to more than the one decimal place you can extract from the system (it can be seen this is the case when crossing the XX.5 boundary).

it would be useful to have VO2 max in the connect app/web page displayed/ downloaded to at least 2 decimal places so you can observe progress in days/weeks rather than months/years.

FR55 crashing when scrolling activities

Hi All,

Having an issue with my Forerunner 55 and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, if they managed to fix it.

A week ago, my FR55 started crashing when saving an activity – Run or Walk.

I tried all the things people have suggested online, but none of them worked.

So I tried a factory reset in the hopes this would fix it. Unfortunately, it will now crash when scrolling through the activity list.

Strangely, when it does crash, and I restart it, the time is always 30 minutes behind, even if it's only been off for 30 seconds.

Other than not being able to use the FR55 for its intended purpose, everything else seems to be fine.

Battery is good – haven’t charged it for 5 days and still at 68%.

Has anyone else encountered this before?

Hello

Issue:

My Forerunner 55 is no longer able to access the GPS.
It constantly shows "A reboot is required to use the GPS" when starting an activity which provide two option "Reboot" or "Don't use the GPS". However, rebooting does not solve the issue.
Constant automatic update of the GPS module

Attempts to fix the solution so far that did not work:

Restarting the watch multiple time
Factory resetting the watch
Synching via both the Garmin Connect and Garmin
Searching for GPS outside for more than 15min

I disabled the automatic update to fix issue #3 but I am still left with #1 and #2.

Does anyone have a fix to this?

I own a forerunner 55 watch. Since i've been using ubuntu for many year, i can't get Connect on my laptop. I'd like to manage my watch, delete some activities for example. I use connect on my smartphone, but I can't find this kind of functionnality.
