Metronome Missing Forerunner 55

I recently bought a Forerunner 55, but I can't see the metronome in the settings. Do I need to download it or something?

  • I don't see any metronome apps for fr55. You could ask the developers of the existing apps to add fr55. But I wonder how they work. Wouldn't it make more sense to download a metronome app to your phone?

  • I was watching Youtube videos and I thought that what they were showing was a fr55, but they were probably other models that have the metronome.

Yes, before I bought the Garmin watch, I was using a Redmi one, so I always have to bring my phone to connect to the GPS and then use a metronome as well.
But now that I have the fr55, I prefer not bringing a phone when running.

I just started running last year so I still struggle with my cadence.

  • I can relate to that. My physiotherapist told me I need to increase my cadence in order to decrease stride length and more importantly to prevent stepping in front of me (as opposed to under me).

During workouts he gave me I used my phone mostly, even though my watch does have a metronome. With time you'll feel the cadence. At least you'll feel when it's relatively low/high compared to your current pace. When I'm in doubt then I look at my watch (and I always add cadence datafield) What you can try is to find one CIQ datafield that has colored cadence and you can set the range you want to be in so looking at your watch will be even easier to see if you are in the right color.
