Is anyone else struggling to get activities to sync with their phone after this SW update? Since this update the watch refuses to send the activity details to the phone. The Bluetooth is obviously working…
Yeah. I have the same issue. I got steps, hr, notifications, etc. But no activity synchronization. I'm not sure if the update was done tho. I guess it was done because I have everything set up for auto…
Is there a way to downgrade to a usable firmware version ? Given the GPS issues, watch is quite useless for me right now (only half tracks are recorded of an 1 hour run, because gps sync takes so long)
Try this solution from another thread here: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-45-series/244927/waiting-for-gps-for-to-long. It worked for me.
I can see that Garmin removed my comment, so let me post it again. After my FR45 started displaying "CPE: Missing" and GPS working terribly slow and inaccurate, my watch was replaced by Garmin. My happiness lasted only couple of days during which the CPE status displayed "Current". Sadly, as of last Saturday it shows "CPE: Expired". Tried syncing, restarting, etc. One thing I did not try is to connect the watch to Garmin Express because I do not have access to a Windows machine. But again, since November 2019 the watch has been working just fine without the need of Garmin Express sync. It is most probably the latest 3.90 firmware that has fundamental bugs and causes this misery. Luckily, I will be getting a refund from Amazon and will probably switch to Polar. It is a shame as this was a really decent watch for an amateur runner, as long as it worked.
My journey with FR45 has come to an end, just received a full refund from Amazon. Such a shame as this has been actually a great watch until 3.90 release. I just can't imagine how Garmin could have released an untested software. Having spoken to their support couple of times I am sure they are well aware about the issues with 3.90 version but who knows if they ever try to fix it. Actually, one of the support agent I was on the phone with suggested himself getting a refund from Amazon as the watch is probably "unfixable". Good luck to others struggling with GPS accuracy, I hope you will get your refunds soon.
I have zero problems with gps accuracy
