Pairing a Foot Pod to the Forerunner 45

Has anyone been able to pair a Foot Pod to their Forerunner 45? I have followed the steps in the manual but the watch does not see the foot pod. Is there some other step somewhere that I am missing? I have replaced the battery in the foot pod with a new battery so I don't think that's the problem. Thanks!

You need to wake up the footpod. Shake it vigorously for several seconds, or better yet, attach it to your shoe and make some dynamic steps.

Btw. which foot pod do you have?

Thank you but sadly, I tried that with no success. I am beginning to believe that the foot pod is DOA. It's a Garmin Foot Pod I purchased on eBay.

Before you give up try the following:

1. I know you placed a new battery, but try removing the battery, wait at least 30 seconds (the most important part), and put it back in.

2. Find someone with a garmin watch and see if the problem persists with another device.
