.FIT file won't load onto Garmin Connect (using Mac)

Today I tried to log a run into Garmin Connect from my Garmin Forerunner 35 watch, but it says the file (a .fit file) is not supported, so I think must be corrupted. The file size is a lot smaller than files of previous runs (only 512 bytes). I am using a Mac. Is there any way to fix this?
