Forerunner 255 overnight battery drain

I have bought a forerunne 255 last week. Last night my battery was drained from 40% to zero over night. Not sure what caused this. Can i have someone at garmin to look into this?

    If you want Garmin to assist, best to contact them directly - Forerunner® 255 | Garmin Customer Support

    If you have Pulse Ox enabled, suggest turning this off and having it set to "Manual Check."

    Other than that, make sure you're following the guidance from Garmin - Tips to Extend the Battery Life on a Garmin Fitness Watch | Forerunner® 255 | Garmin Customer Support

  • Don't disable Sp02 at night, set it up as per specifications and pin them to their claims:

    Check wifi sync is off - I raised a bug here about the implementation of that.

  • Thanks. Pulse Ox is on demand so cannot be the cause. Think it tried to sync or update something overnight and got stuck in a loop... will monitor going fwd

  • I'm getting a swap for a new watch when I pass by Kuala Lumpur.

  • Get the "Battery Graph" app to auto calculate battery life and easily see the effect of changes you make.

  • I returned to a daily consumption of 7 / 8%. doing.

    1) restore default settings
    2) delete all activities
    3) reset totals

    In this way I did not lose the histories but the configurations of the activities
    ///////

    yo volvi a un consumo diario de 7 / 8 %. haciendo.

    1) restablecer la configuracion predeterminadas
    2) borrar todas las actividades
    3) restablecer totales

    de esta forma no perdi los historicos pero si las configuraciones de las actividades

  • What was your daily drain before?

    Also, why do your believe that deleting activities would help?

  • I was draining between 10 and 15% daily without doing any activity. The same thing happened to me in the previous version of firmware, but this time I tried the option to erase data and restore settings, it worked fine, but it was like starting from scratch, it took me 3 weeks to start having vfc statistics, performance, etc. This time I tried the other options and I didn't lose anything and the battery consumption is fine.

    ////////////

    estaba drenando entre 10 y 15% diario din hacer ninguna actividad.

    en la versión anterior de firmware me paso lo mismo, pero en esa oportunidad probe con la opcion borrar datos y restablecer configuraciones, funciono bien, pero fue como empezar de cero, me llevo 3 semanas empezar a tener estadiaticas de vfc, rendimiento etc.

    esta vez probe con las otras opcines y no perdi nada y el consumo de bateria esta bien.

  • Hi all

    I bought a 255 music last week, I love it but twice twice this week I have recieved two updates, one on day of purchase,  then another a couple of days later.  Latest 14.13 has caused a massive random drain on battery twice this week, leading me not to trust the watch for an early morning competition run, with 80% gone overnight. Stressful getting charge back into watch before race. I have done soft resets and reset default settings but it happened again for second time.
