I have tried to use the walk feature while swimming and it does track my water route but the distance and speed seem way off. It seems weird that the Garmin connect IQ store has a professional open water swim app which can be downloaded for a fee. This should be included with the Garmin watch. I am a long time Garmin costumer with my second Garmin watch over 15 years, a Garmin Edge and four Garmin Inreaches. You would think Garmin could do a better job supporting their users.

RE: open water swim

The 245 does not support open water swimming, unlike the 745, for example, which Garmin honestly states in their specifications and takes into account in the price.

RE: Forever 245 / edge 540 conflicts

Read until the end of the line, don't stop after the 1st word 🙂

Indoor Runs using the treadmill provide a training efect number, but will not give a VO2Max. Here is some additional information regarding this feature:

Great, except the outdoor temperature is single digits with lots of snow and ice.

Forced to run on treadmill, but it doesn't count. Seems wrong since it is still tracking heart rate and distance.

Even when configuring the router to use older protocols, the watch still won't connect.

I found some links which indicate that Garmin devices don't support Wifi 6 (802.11ac) or 7 and only can connect to more legacy wireless standards.

Are there any plans for devices to support newer wifi standards? Now I have to sync my watch through my phone instead of wifi, but the whole reason I chose the Forerunner 245 Music was so I didn't have to pair to my phone.

RE: Wifi 7 support?
I found some links which indicate that Garmin devices don't support Wifi 6 (802.11ac)
