I've had and loved this watch for 7 years. My training status now says 'no status'. I am on a recovery training period so lower than usual mileage, however this past 7 days i have still been for 4 outdoor runs all at least 25 minutes. I have also done an hours outdoor bike riding.

Any ideas how this can be fixed?

PacePro doesn’t understand unequal loops

The course I want to race has two loops of the park, the first following a slightly longer route. If I create a course from a run over the correctly followed route, and turn it into a PacePro run, it will tell me during the first loop that I am off course, somehow believing that I should be already on the second loop. Is there a known workaround?

I hope they made the Garmin Connect PacePro badge in order to elicit feedback on the feature. It needs work. Other issues are:

- elevation-based splits are not triggered by the same changes in grade that make sense to runners (noted by another user in a thread that was locked before anyone replied)

- when pacepro reaches some undocumented and insufficient limit on the number of splits, it silently fails to save any changes.

- reversing a course and reversing it back sometimes changes its length

Sone days I miss my old Forerunner that was a giant red box with all kinds of charging problems, but fricking immortal, and the virtual partner feature was perfect.

Both worked without any issue until 2 weeks ago, and we charge them about every 5 days.

My son's fr245m however started to loose battery very fast in the past 2 weeks. It sometimes doesn't even hold a full day. Yesterday afternoon we left home with 97% and today at noon it already turned itself off and we didn't do any activities.

I was trying to think what could've changed in the past 2 weeks. No new all installed, no new firmware. No change in usage, except one thing: he's been to the pool for the first time since he got the (2nd hand) watch. So I am thinking, that maybe the water somehow causes this? It luckily doesn't show any fogging so I don't think that's the issue, but also can't point at anything else.

Ah, and because it looses battery so fast now it reached 0 a few times in the past 2 weeks, so it even "self" restarted.

I tried to compare the 2 watches to see if there's any sign that the 2nd hand watch maybe had it's battery replaced, but I can't be sure. There's no definite sign, but there is some more "ware" than on the watch I own for 5 years. It could be that it was opened and not sealed perfectly.

Is there anything I can do to improve the battery life? I mean I expect it to degrade (I even took it into consideration when I bought 2nd hand) but I'd think it's a slow linear process and not jumping from 5 days to 1/2 day in a week.

My Garmin 245m is telling me 50hr recovery time??!! whaa??!!
My music from Spotify plays well normally on my Forerunner 245 Music thru headphones (JBL Go Air Sport+), but starts glitching/cutting out when I try to use GPS to track an activity. I've tried pausing/playing, using different headphones/speakers, forgetting/re-pairing headphones, system update, and a full reset of the watch. At this point, there's no way I'm paying over $100 for a refurbished one just to have the same issue.

The music capability is the main reason why I wanted a Music model... what's the point if it doesn't work while you're running?!

10k six week running program

I am moolking for a six week program to improve my 10k time

Why does my Forerunner 235 not show my route map anymore.

Why does my Forerunner 235 not show my route map anymore.

Forerunner 245 M does support skipping last recovery of interval session.

I have a strange issues with my FR245M.

A couple of weeks ago I notices the possibility to skip the last recovery phase of the last fast session.
I only saw this on the webversion of connect, not in the app and also nothing special on my watch.

During my training it worked as expected. Last fast session followed by the cooldown.

Two days ago I made a new workout on my phone and while synchronizing it with my watch I got a notification that my phone doesn't support this function.
(And the check box has also disappeared from the webversion of Connect.)

And indeed, during my training it went from fast session to recovery and then cooldown.

What is going on?

Unreasonably large jump in VO2max

I recently used my FR245 over three nights to get my resting heart rate while sleeping and it is 50 bpm. However, I have always used my "awake" resting heart rate of 75 bpm to calculate my heart rate zones using %reserve. So I changed that to 60bpm (sort of splitting the difference between 50 and 75). Then, on my most recent 5K run, using my older FR630, my VO2max jumped up from 43.56 to 45.49 - that's about 2 full points!

The run was definitely my hardest effort of the year and PB for the year. I am kind of an aerobic base junky. Also, it was about 15 F cooler than my previous runs. Figure hard effort and much cooler weather would give me a little vo2max boost, but not 2 points.

So question is what made such a huge VO2max jump?

Different watch? The 45.49 was from the FR630 which I rarely use anymore.

Hardest run of the year? My typical 5K's are about 10:45 pace but this last one I pushed to 9:20.

Much cooler weather? Recent runs have been in 70's and 80's, this last one was in upper 50's.

Different resting heart rate used for zone calculations? Went from 75 to 60 for resting heart rate to calculate zones base on HRR.

A combination of some or all of the above?

I have been running since 2017 and have never seen a VO2max jump even close to 2 points.

Cordialement,

For a week or so, I have had a problem transfering custom workouts to my watch.

- At some point in the last week, the custom workouts were appearing only under one "running" activity (for example, they appear under workouts for a regular run activity, but would not appear under the "treadmill running" activity).

- Now, tonight, I am not able to transfer any custom workout to my watch.

This problem occurred a few years ago but had been resolved; it now appears to have returned.

Am I the only one experiencing this problem? It makes my watch essentially unusable...
