My Garmin Forerunner wont turn on. I have it plugged in and am pressing the On button. The Garmin names lights up briefly but then fades away. Any ideas?

I saw another thread where it was suggested to push the light and select buttons for 15 seconds. I did just that and it worked. Worth a try.

I have the same issue with a 230.

Any idea what it may be?

Tried the light and select buttons but no joy.

Update:

I was well out of warranty so took off the cover as per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvxwuGMmdL4 . I had been in saltwater and read somewhere that blank screen can be water after getting in.

I took out the main board (using a torx 5) and cleaned anything I could with alcohol wipes and left it on a radiator for a day charging. Next day I checked and it was at 100% and seemed fine. Did a few tests then sealed back on the screen and working still. I had done a full reset as one person recommended but that was not the issue but I did need to re-pair the watch with garmin connect.
