Forerunner 235 continually drops the connection to iphone 11.

I've recently upgraded to an iphone 11, and I can't keep the bluetooth connection from the forerunner 235 to the new iphone. I had no issues with my old iphone 8.

There were no issues keeping the bluetooth connection open between the forerunner and an iphone 8.

Both iphones are running iOS 13.1.2 and the forerunner is on firmware 7.90. Both iphones claim to support the same bluetooth standard (5.0)

I've tried all the usual tricks - deleting the connection, rebooting both devices and then recreating the connection etc. Is there any way to keep this bluetooth connection working to an iphone 11?

I note that other garmin devices have had a beta firmware update to address issues with connections to the iphone 11 - see for example the Edge 530 firmware 4.21 release notes https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=14953) so I was wondering if a similar beta firmware update will be made available for the forerunner 235?

that is good that it is fixed for you. I have Garmin sw version 8.2 and iphone 13.6. Still the same problem. Bluetooth is connected, but the App keeps losing the connection. Has anyone actually seen this…

I am having what appears to be the same issue with my Forerunner 230 & new iPhone 11. It drops the connection & it takes much turning off/on etc before it will reconnect. I have just checked & I have the latest firmware, the latest iOS & latest app. Can you help please, Garmin?

I have the same issue with my Forerunner 235. It continually connects and disconnects even with it next to me on my desk. Garmin, can you please help?

Having same issue, new iPhone 11 and can not pair with Forerunner 235. Has anyone got the answer?

I chatted with Garmin and now it is fixed! I needed to update my iOS to 13.3 (wasn't automatically pushed on my phone) and that solved the problem. My Garmin Connect App version is up to date with 4.25.2.1 and my watch (Forerunner 235) software version is 7.90 which is up to date.

I have similar problems with Forerunner 235 and new iPhone 11 (13.6.1). The iPhone has a connection, but the Forerunner are still trying to connect.
