I think a Forerunner 235 should be able to broadcast its heart rate over ANT to a Garmin Edge 705, right?
But I cannot for the life of me make it work. I put the watch in broadcast mode (on to the HR screen then hold ^ and choose broadcast heart rate), I get the Edge to rescan for HRMs, nothing happens. Turning the Edge off/on, turning HR sensor off/on, putting the watch on charge briefly (something suggested in a forum)... nothing happens, no pairing...
I have tried to debug by
1) trying to pair with a friend's FR 235 - that doesn't work either
2) the Edge 705 picks up my Garmin cadence sensor so ANT on the Edge is working in some way
3) leaving the HR option turned on on the Edge, while cycling I even occasionally pick up broadcasts from other people's HRM straps...
FR 235 running v6.30
Edge 705 running v3.30
Any bright ideas?
I am slightly suspicious that www.thisisant.com doesn't list the Edge 705...
