Sadly Share Ideas | Garmin do not seems to work either, but you can still contact Support.

Anyway, could you be a bit more specific what is your problem?

I guess you have Coach plan and you would like to use it with Track Run activity and got information for each lap.

If that is correct than maybe you are starting activity in wrong way?

Usually when you just select activity type on the day when you have scheduled Coach Run workout, watch is asking you if you like to follow it with summary of activity. It is easy to dismiss that and activity will tracked without "link" to the plan, but still used for calculation your workload etc

Just for checking try next time this procedure on the day when you have planned workout:

1. Select as usual Track Run, if there will be not prompt like do 48 minutes @ 130 bpm go to next step, otherwise you good to go and it should be recorded correctly with laps (*)

2. Press on menu button to open Track Run Settings, scroll to Training --> Workouts --> now you should see your Garmin Coach Plan Today's Training (all this should be in German)

You should be able to select workout for today or any from next 7 days

garmin coach lapcounter not tracked for running tracks

Hi Garmin SW team:

Here is a sw request: please enable the lapcounter and lapstatistics for running track (german "Laufbahn") also for activities started via Garmin Run Coach.

Currently it is just giving all stats only for the full activity but its not separated by laps as it is for non Garmin Coach activities.

I guess this topic is for update on all Garmin watches.

It vastly overstates elevation gain and loss, though the altitude minimum and maximums on the run are correct. I've tried to clean the altimeter port three or four times but it just doesn't work. I think that the problem is that the altimeter can't be manually calibrated and/or isn't calibrating with the GPS properly. When Garmin turned off the manual calibration for the 165 they said it was to "differentiate the 165 with higher end models," now that the 170 has arrived and has manual altimeter calibration, can Garmin please turn the ability to manually calibrate the 165's altimeter back on. I would like the ability to return to the Watch Face and access my normal glances. For example, when I receive a text message and I miss the few seconds to open the message from the watch screen popup, there is no way to view the message from my watch. I would also like to access other glances too (weather, steps, body battery, etc). If anyone knows a way, please let me know.

I have tried workarounds I found on other threads including:

Holding the lap/set/back button - This does not do anything. The FR165 does not have the Hot Key function like other models to be able to program this feature.

Enabling touch screen during activity and swiping right to return to Watch Face - This also did not do anything.

Enabling the clock as a data screen for the activity and pushing the lap/set/back button when the clock data screen is showing - This also did not do anything.

Holding the up button, going through settings, and applying a watch face - Not only is this overly cumbersome, I was not able to find the watch face settings in the menus to actually do this workaround.

My suggestions to developers:

Enable long press of lap/set button to return to Watch Face. Not only during activities, but from within any menu in the watch. If the “Hot Key” feature is reserved for higher-end models, at least enable this one action for just this one button on the FR165

Create a setting that allows the user to disable the manual lap/set button (not just the auto-set feature) for selected activities. When the button is disabled, allow it to function as the normal “back” button to return to Watch Face

Lastly, I also have an Instinct 2 and it has the same issue. However, for that model the “Hot Key” feature is a suitable workaround to assign Watch Face to a long press button. Regardless, my second suggestion also applies to the Instinct 2 as another potential solution.

RE: measurement HR is now very bad

My Garmin was showing good HR values since I bought it a few weeks ago. I like to turn off touch screen if my watch will be getting wet (in the shower or during swimming) so that it doesn't go haywire. I will toggle it off from the controls menu and it will disable. Then when I am ready to turn it back in, nothing. I have to reboot the watch for it to re-enable. Super annoying.

RE: Touch screen does not re-enable from the controls menu.

I suggest contacting customer support directly.
I have sometimes a bug by using UltraTrac as satelite system: the activity (f.e. walking) starts without issues and also showing the track.

but: once I save the activity it is then showing only a single coordinate point and this activity is not loadable into the Garmin App.

All other satelite systems (f.e. GPS) I did not observe this.

May also effect other Garmin watches.

Thanks!

count hike activities as walking

Hi Garmin,
