Tacs training app became extremely slow

In the last 2 months it takes the app 10-20 minutes to start. Every step is extremely slow.

TacX workouts in Training Peaks on Strava

How can I connect my TacX workouts in Training Peaks Virtual, which I do on my Windows 11 laptop, to Garmin Express or Strava? I want records of my indoor rides on Strava.

Ok for future reference I figured the problem out.. or at least.. AI did ;)

Root Cause (final)

AntService.exe crashes because WMI event subscriptions are broken on your system

Specifically:

AntService tries to create a WMI watcher for Win32_PnPEntity
WMI throws WBEM_E_INVALID_CLASS
AntService doesn’t catch the exception
.NET aborts the process
Tacx shuts down seconds later

This is 100% deterministic and reproducible.

Why reinstalling Tacx alone does NOT fix it

Tacx ships AntService as a packaged Windows App
The crash happens before any Tacx code can recover
The problem is in Windows WMI, not the app

That’s why:

Reinstalls don’t help
Driver updates alone don’t help
Tacx closes “mysteriously”

✅ Correct Fix (Do This — In Order)

1️⃣ Repair WMI (mandatory)

Open Command Prompt as Administrator:

If it says inconsistent (likely):

Reboot.

2️⃣ If AntService still crashes → reset WMI

Reboot again.

⚠️ This is safe and commonly used by Microsoft support.

3️⃣ Rebuild WMI performance counters (often required on Win 11 24H2)

Then:

Reboot.

Shortly after starting the desktop app it keeps closing on me as if scripted after connecting to a profile server or something like that. Tried about everything to resolve this; repair app, reset app, reinstall app, disable Windows Defender etc etc.

Never has done this before for the last so many years.

Started after December 15 20205.

How do I find my favourites and downloads in the TacX Desktop App?

I used to be able to apply a filter on the Movies tab to show just favourites or downloads. But after a summer away that option has disappeared!

I am always downloading the movies (Windows desktop), and selected the movie quality where I'm paying for (720p), and then I saw which movies I haven't downloaded yet, but it seems that the filter on movie quality is gone and I can't see anymore which movies I still need to download

I have a similar issue. I went to use a downloaded movie, and the app can't find it. I point the app to the folder(d:/Tacx), and it spins forever before it finally gives up and says it cannot find the any movied in the folder.

Thanks, I found this (option 2/3). It's a shame there's no easy way to see all of my downloads though. There is a similar list of downloads but I haven't downloaded any of the movies it lists! Option 4 doesn't work, I don't have a menu as you describe. Anyway it's all moot now as the Desktop App won't connect with my trainer, and I've tried everything Garmin support suggested. So I'm on the Android app now

You should be able to view your favorites by following these steps:

Open the Tacx Desktop app.
Navigate to the "Movies" tab in the left-hand sidebar.
From the options displayed, select the "Favorites" filter to see all your favorited movies.
You can also find your favorites by looking for the "Favorites" option within the menu on the right-hand side of the dashboard screen

If you are not able to see this, please share some screen shots of what you are seeing.

there is no accuracy (or telling this is more accurate than the other) indoor in distance. the duration is the most important, and the power (unfortunately that is not accurate with Flow, but it is an another story). as i said, choose what is more sympathetic, thats all. for your 2nd question: in virtual world the power is the key, nothing more. You can pedal in ERG mode with constant rear wheel speed, but the power can be 100w , 200w, 300w or any other value for mins or hours. this speed sensor feature is coming from old days where there was no such an app like Tacx or Zwift or MyWhoosh, and there wasnt ERG mode neither in the trainers. honestly the best would be Tacx will remove this thing or somehow make a bridging from these apps that the ingame speed should transmit to the head units via this speed sensor data (and in this case the 2 distances would be equal) btw lots of people is not using head units indoor (to avoid such a duplications), just the Tacx or Zwift (these have integration into Garmin ecosytem for sure)

Difference between Smart Watch Venu 3S and Indoor Trainer Smart Flow

Hello

I have a Venu 3S and a Tacx Smart Flow indoor Cycling trainer. I started a free training session with Tacx and started indoor cycling on the Venu 3S (which is also connected to the Smart Flow via Bluetooth).

However, I have now noticed some significant discrepancies:

Venu 3S:
1 hour of training
25.2 km/h average speed
25.17 km distance
135 watts average power

TacX App
1 hour 1 min of training (I started 1 min later on the watch)
28.9 km/h average speed
29.54 km distance
134 watts average power

Which data is more accurate? Why are there such large differences with these devices? I assume the Smart Flow Bluetooth sensor should actually send the same data to the watch and the TacX app?

I now also have two indoor training sessions on the Connect app—I assume I can't synchronize these?

Compatibility of Giant Revolt 2 and Garmin Tacx Boost Trainer

Can anyone tell me if the Giant Revolt 2 (2025) and Garmin Tacx Boost trainer are compatible? As far as I can tell the limiting factor is the need to a purchase a T1710 E-Thru trainer axle M12x1.5, with medium thread - suitable for hubs with axle skewer attachment 142 × 12. I really don't want to spend a bunch of money on a trainer and the Garmin Tacx Boost is currently on sale for $170 so it looked promising. Can you give me any reasons why I shouldn't buy it even if it is compatible?

So because of the physical speed of the rear wheel, the Venu should be more accurate? Or less accurate, because i cant configurate the wheelsize?

Why dont TacX (or Zwift etc) use the phsysical rear data and calculate with some variables? Shouldn't the physical impact with the right wheel-Size be the exact one? (like the old-school trackers on bikes)?

because coming from 2 different calculation methods:

Venu: speed is coming from the trainer's speed sensor data (so the physical speed of your rear wheel)

Tacx app: speed is calculated virtually from the reported power with the other variables.

these 2 never will match (it is similar if You use Zwift or MyWhoosh and not Tacx app), delete what is not sympathetic

Flow smart trainer thru axle confusion

Hello,

I have a Orbea Avant H60 bike and I have also bought a Tacx Flow Smart trainer. Now I'm a little confused about axle compatibility. My bike has double-lead thread pitch so the original Tacx are not compatible (for example the T1711 model that was the closest but it has single lead thread pitch).

I have found original Orbea trainer axle (X056; www.orbea.com/.../x056ttcc) and also Robert Axle Project Trainer Thru Axle - TRA224 (www.bike24.com/p2595128.html). Orbea cannot guarantee the compatibility of their trainer axle and recommended that I contact Tacx. So my question would be if anymore can confirm that for example the Orbea's axle length 183mm would be suitable for Flow Smart Trainer? Robert Axle has a length of 165mm but I'm not sure if it's double-lead type (at least it seems to be). Also not sure if the caps of both (Orbea and Robert) are compatible with Flow Smart.

Bike's axle info spec is following 12x142mm (Thru axle); 12x165mm in total length; Double thread 2P1.0; thread length 15mm.

I have a TACX FLOWSMART Indoor trainer with Giant crossroads bike with 700x25c tyres.

I'm based in Australia & am seeking the proper trainer tyres easily available in Australia.

Question :

Will Vittoria ZAFFIRO HOME TRAINER Black 700 x 25C be appropriate for this purpose?

Or, which other 25mm tyres , easily available in Australia, are appropriate for this purpose?

The only tire that I found on internet that fits the specs is

KOM Cycling Indoor Trainer Tire 700 x 25c.

It seems only Amazon sells it.;

Garmin US offers a 700x23c indoor training tire: PART NUMBER T1390
You can find many "indoor trainer" tires available from other tire manufacturers as well. The maximum compatible tire size for the Tacx Flow Smart is 700 x 32c (622-32).

I've brand new Continental Ultra sport tyre on GIANT Cross city bike mounted on TACX Flowsmart trainer. Whenever I exercise, tiny tyre particles come out & spoil the whole floor (mostly back side). This looks like an unusual behaviour. Anyway to prevent this from happenning? Garmin tacx disconnecting frequently and loss of data

Dear all,

I have the following setup:

Last version of garmin training on my Huawei p30 pro and last version updated on my Tacx Flow. They are connected with bluetooth.

When I start a race (Col du telegraphe) It started disconnecting a lot (100times) but only during the climb. It says that I need to continue to pedal in order to continue the race.

The disconnecting can last between 1 and 20 seconds. It its quite horrifying.

I tried to manually pause the race and continue but it doesn't change anything

I tried to have the smartphone closer to the tacx flow but it doesnt change a thing

Anyways I did finish that race painfully, at it end I clicked on save and then... the race never saved

I closed the app Garmin tacx and opened it again, the result of the race appeatred on a pop-up, asking if I wanted to save them. I clicked on yes agazin but nothing was saved.

Could you help me please to;

Fix the connection issue

Help me to find back the file

Tacx Flux 2 + Quick Release Adapter – Need Correct End Caps

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help me out.

I have a Tacx Flux 2 Smart direct-drive trainer and recently bought the Tacx Quick Release Adapter Set (T2840) to use with my Specialized Allez Sport 2021 (135 mm quick release).

The problem: the end caps currently on my trainer seem too large (looks like they’re for thru-axles), so my bike won’t seat properly.

From what I’ve found online, I think I need the Quick Release-specific block caps (part number S0053 / Garmin 117‑01575‑02) to replace the current thru-axle caps.

What I’ve tried so far:

Checked the Tacx documentation and parts list for the Flux 2
Reached out to a local bike shop (they weren’t sure)
Looked on Garmin’s site and some retailers, but couldn’t find these caps listed for sale

My questions:

Can anyone confirm that part number S0053 / 117‑01575‑02 is the correct end cap set for this setup?
Does anyone know if these can be purchased directly from Garmin, or is there a recommended source?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!
