I have a Venu 3S and a Tacx Smart Flow indoor Cycling trainer. I started a free training session with Tacx and started indoor cycling on the Venu 3S (which is also connected to the Smart Flow via Bluetooth).

However, I have now noticed some significant discrepancies:

Venu 3S:
1 hour of training
25.2 km/h average speed
25.17 km distance
135 watts average power

TacX App
1 hour 1 min of training (I started 1 min later on the watch)
28.9 km/h average speed
29.54 km distance
134 watts average power

Which data is more accurate? Why are there such large differences with these devices? I assume the Smart Flow Bluetooth sensor should actually send the same data to the watch and the TacX app?

I now also have two indoor training sessions on the Connect app—I assume I can't synchronize these?

Hello,

I have a Orbea Avant H60 bike and I have also bought a Tacx Flow Smart trainer. Now I'm a little confused about axle compatibility. My bike has double-lead thread pitch so the original Tacx are not compatible (for example the T1711 model that was the closest but it has single lead thread pitch).

I have found original Orbea trainer axle (X056; www.orbea.com/.../x056ttcc) and also Robert Axle Project Trainer Thru Axle - TRA224 (www.bike24.com/p2595128.html). Orbea cannot guarantee the compatibility of their trainer axle and recommended that I contact Tacx. So my question would be if anymore can confirm that for example the Orbea's axle length 183mm would be suitable for Flow Smart Trainer? Robert Axle has a length of 165mm but I'm not sure if it's double-lead type (at least it seems to be). Also not sure if the caps of both (Orbea and Robert) are compatible with Flow Smart.

Bike's axle info spec is following 12x142mm (Thru axle); 12x165mm in total length; Double thread 2P1.0; thread length 15mm.

Thanks in advance!

I have the following setup:

Last version of garmin training on my Huawei p30 pro and last version updated on my Tacx Flow. They are connected with bluetooth.

When I start a race (Col du telegraphe) It started disconnecting a lot (100times) but only during the climb. It says that I need to continue to pedal in order to continue the race.

The disconnecting can last between 1 and 20 seconds. It its quite horrifying.

I tried to manually pause the race and continue but it doesn't change anything

I tried to have the smartphone closer to the tacx flow but it doesnt change a thing

Anyways I did finish that race painfully, at it end I clicked on save and then... the race never saved

I closed the app Garmin tacx and opened it again, the result of the race appeatred on a pop-up, asking if I wanted to save them. I clicked on yes agazin but nothing was saved.

I’m hoping someone can help me out.

I have a Tacx Flux 2 Smart direct-drive trainer and recently bought the Tacx Quick Release Adapter Set (T2840) to use with my Specialized Allez Sport 2021 (135 mm quick release).

The problem: the end caps currently on my trainer seem too large (looks like they’re for thru-axles), so my bike won’t seat properly.

From what I’ve found online, I think I need the Quick Release-specific block caps (part number S0053 / Garmin 117‑01575‑02) to replace the current thru-axle caps.

What I’ve tried so far:

Checked the Tacx documentation and parts list for the Flux 2

Reached out to a local bike shop (they weren’t sure)

Looked on Garmin’s site and some retailers, but couldn’t find these caps listed for sale

My questions:

Can anyone confirm that part number S0053 / 117‑01575‑02 is the correct end cap set for this setup?

Does anyone know if these can be purchased directly from Garmin, or is there a recommended source?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Training app crashes when trying to import gps

trying to import gps files into the tacx windows app. previously uploaded with no problems, but now crashes by trying to relog itself back in followed by an unresponsive white screen. tried reinstalling the app but still the same.
A connection and calibration with the android tacx app is possible. The device is up to date says the app.

I'll start by saying that I am a runner and have been trying out some indoor cycling cross-training due to weather and/or injuries. So I am looking to fine tune my setup for casual/infrequent use but also am very data driven with my training. And please excuse me if I get the terminology wrong with this stuff too!

For equipment, I have a road bike on a generic trainer with a manual resistance control. I also have the Garmin Speed 2 and Cadence sensors along with a Venu 3 watch and a Polar HC10 heart rate strap.

With that, I was able to follow along with a couple of cadence-based workouts on YouTube while using the Bike Indoor activity on my watch. But looking at the watch is a bit annoying so a dedicated display on my phone would be handy.

I tried installing the Tacx Training app onto my phone and with the sensors in Bluetooth mode, I have them paired and connected in the app. I told the app that I have the basic Tacx Boost trainer even though it's another generic brand of trainer with manual resistance control. Then I also connected the heartrate monitor to the Tacx app. If I chose the Power Workout, then I get a basic display that shows Power (estimated/calculated), Speed, RPM (Cadence), and HR. When I stop recording, I can save the workout to my Garmin Connect account.

That worked ok for a bit but now for some reason the speed/power don't work on the iPhone app anymore. I have no idea why and it's very frustrating. So I tried the macOS app on my Macbook, paired all the sensors, and that works instead. It's more inconvenient to have to use the laptop though.

Any idea why the Speed sensor works on the laptop and not the iPhone app?

If Tacx isn't the right app for me, I'm open to other suggestions too! I want a basic app that can show Power (estimated/calculated), Speed, RPM (Cadence), and HR. I myself don't care about the virtual rides/races. I just follow cadence-based workout videos on YouTube and try to match power/effort targets.Ideally the same app could be used for riding outdoors and it would also record GPS data and have a calculate power metric.

TACX flow smart trainer not calibrating and disconnecting during ride

Problem: I can't get the trainer to calibrate and when using the Tacx Training app on my phone, the trainer disconnects after a few minutes into the workout and won't reconnect automatically. The workout thinks I have stopped pedalling.

Setup: I have my trainer paired to my Android (Samsung S23FE) via BLE. I also have it setup as a sensor on my Forerunner 965 via ANT+.

Calibration problem detail: I have had my trainer about 6 weeks. I was able to calibrate during the first two weeks. Then suddenly this started happening where it would say I need to calibrate, I would start the calibration, spin up to 30km/h, and let it coast down. It would sit at 0.0 km/h and never evaluate the calibration. I few weeks later, the trainer started disconnecting from the Tacx Training app on my phone a few minutes after starting a ride. I also have it paired with my watch via and ANT+ and it seems to work fine starting workouts through my phone. I bought an ANT+ dongle for my PC and I can connect there, but for some silly reason the Desktop app doesn't allow you to calibrate.

I have tried calibrating with different tire pressures and played extensively with different tightness settings on the trainer. I have tried two different phones and a tablet all with the same results.

Frequent flat tires

I’m using the Tacx trainer tire. 700x23 inner tube. Inflating to 110 psi. Inner tube punctures are from a single, tiny pinhole puncture, but are in varying locations, and ALWAYS on the outer surface of the tube (ie, not a spoke/rim tape issue). I apply small amount of talc powder to surface of inner tube and inner surface of tire. I’ve even replaced the Tacx trainer tire. I’ve used both regular inner tubes as well as thicker “puncture resistant” inner tubes. I fully deflate the inner tube after each session. Typically get a flat after 300-400 miles. More likely to occur after “steeper” rides (ie, greater resistance). Not temperature related, as the flats occur in cooler weather (50-60 degrees) as well as warmer weather (70-80 degrees). I do all sessions with trainer well calibrated.
