VIVOSPORT started behaving erratically and then died - any ideas how to revive it?

Hello,

I had my Vivosport replaced by Garmin under warranty because of a bracelet failure. The new unit I received worked fine for a few months, then suddenly it started having charging issues - it would charge for a few seconds then stop. It would stop being recognized by the Garmin utility on my laptop when plugged in using the cable. However, it would still charge in an erratic fashion (charge for a few seconds, then stop, then carge again). After that, it started restart each time I would disconnect it.
I decided to let the battery run flat in an attempt to somehow hard-restart it. However, after the battery went to zero, the device died - no more charging, either from the laptop nor a charger.
Any ideas how to try and revive it? THere are no physical buttons so options are somewhat limited...

Thanks
K.
