Wrist pain

I bought myself a Vivo Sport today and within an hour of wearing it, I started getting a numbing pain in my wrist and hand. I swopped to the other arm and within an hour the same thing happened.

Anyone else experienced this?

  • Is this a skin irritation? More internal, joints, bones, etc.?

  • No, no signs of redness or irritation that I can see. Just a numb pain in the joint and muscles. Wrist, hand and forearm.

  • Those bracelet style bands are somewhat inflexible. Maybe that is causing the pain. Or maybe too tight. Perhaps you should switch to something like the Forerunner 45 of vivomove HR.

  • No it is not too tight, and no it is not discomfort caused by the strap.

  • Difficult to diagnose. Searching the forums turns up some other similar, but not quite identical customer experiences. Nonetheless, Garmin will want to hear from you regarding any discomfort caused by your device. Suggest contacting Garmin support via chat, email, or phone.

  • Are you with Garmin? Because then you know about it. I have emailed my local Garmin office.

  • I'm not a Garmin employee. I only know what I've found in these forums regarding other users and what they've described. Let us know how it goes.

  • Yes, except in my case a Forerunner, and it took much longer to develop. I started to experience joint pain in my little finger on my left hand, which eventually became immobile. I thought it was the result of an earlier hand injury . Saw a specialist after 3-4 months, and during physio I switched my Forerunner to my other arm. Same symptoms flared up in my right hand, and the left recovered quickly. Now I can't wear my Forerunner for more than an hour without developing joint pain in my hands.

So, I now use a heart rate strap and keep my Forerunner in my pocket / strapped to the bike.

  • There are a few strands on this topic in these pages, e.g. 'my wrist hurts' and 'pain in my wrist'. So, it is not just us having hassles.

  • Yes! I just started wearing my watch Garmin vivomove full time for week during the day only taking it off at night while sleeping. Last night I woke up with the most excruciating sharp burning pain shooting down my wrist to my fingers and up my arm. The area where the pain was comming from was directly where the watch face sits. It lasted several hours. I wear the watch loosely on my wrist so it was not caused by pressure. In the morning the pain had subsided and I put my watch back on but towards the afternoon the pain started to faintly return so I took my watch off and now I am so scared to use it.
