Vivosport optical heart rate completely inaccurate during cardio workout

Good morning,

I have been reading quite a lot on the topic, posts dating from 2 years ago to more recent ones that are all pointing to the same issue being that the Vivosport optical heart rate is giving inaccurate result for cardio workouts.

Anyone ever found a working solution for this, beside having to use a chest strap?

I could not find any statement from Garmin acknowledging that this is a problem.

Thanks!

  • this might seem crazy but I lick my arm first then put the watch on there and it works.  otherwise it takes a good 10-15 mins to start reading accurately.

on a side note..i was wearing this recently during my treadmill stress test i did at the doc office and I did the above and then jogged/ran on flat/steep incline for 17 mins and the watch was literally dead on.  don't know why i have to do that ..i guess to simulate sweat?  also, i wear it snug too

maybe try this and see if it helps
