Vivosmart 4 is showing too much steps / km walked etc

Hello,

I am wearing the Vivosmart4 24/7 on my right wrist. During workouts I use an Apple Watch 4 on my left wrist.

After my last run the AW4 showed 6.3km whereas the Vivosmart4 showed 9.0km.

In the iOS health app the AW4 is the primary device for recording workouts. The Garmin app is allowed to read and write data (excluding workouts).

How can I improve the accuracy of the Vivosmart4 step recording?

Cheers

Thomas

  • You may need to set a custom stride length. In the Garmin Connect web app click the watch icon in the upper right and choose your device. Click the "User Settings" header and scroll down to "Custom Stride Length" and enable for running (you can also set it for walking) and provide the necessary details.

  • Does NOT work. I've try many different settings, and i my case it is adding 23%. It is working fine in Vidvosmart 3
