Garmin-AmberD would you be so kind to explain this design choice? Seems like an oversight.
I have different watches and like to change my watches, for example for travel, for work and even for leisure time also depending on the season. So it may be that I want to drop the Garmin Style some weeks. I want to make sure that the battery doesn't suffer if I don't take care of the watch within this time. In general, lithium batteries should be stored at about 80% charge. Every smartphone, even my Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch can be completely turned off, why is this not possible with the Garmin Style?
Turn off Bluetooth, turn off PulseOX and turn off HR monitor. Not using the watch the display will not turn on and only the analog hands will work. That should minimize battery drain, i think it is the best you can do.
I suppose not having physical buttons has to do with Garmin's choice of not having a true "off" function. If the watch is off the display does not register touches and cannot communicate with Garmin Express through the charging cable, hence cannot be turned on from the outside.
