Swim activity settings

Two questions related to the swim activity:

1) What's impacted by the Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced settings? (Manual isn't really helpful in this regard)

2) Is there a way to select different pool sizes? The pools I swim in are 33 and 1/3 metres and 30 metres.

(1) I'm also wondering about this setting. It could adjust the watch's sensitivity for swim movements - ***-stroke swimming e. g. is done very different when comparing beginners with advanced guys.

(2) Didn't find anything - I guess, no.
