Vivofit 4 Steps stay at zero

New to the Vivofit 4 so maybe I have done something wrong...

Wearing it for 4 days now and the steps displayed are always 0. When I sink to IOS it displays calories burned but no distance. I started an activity manually and played baseball for 2 hours. At the end is displayed time and calories but 0.00 distance.

Am I doing something wrong or is this thing busted?

I don't have a VF4 but I have a VF1 on the shelf. As I recall, you need to have step goal checked in your device settings.
