Overheating while charging

Good morning,

I've had my watch for 3 years and have had absolutely no issues until this morning. I charged it last night without a problem took it off the charger and put it on my wrist. When I woke up this morning it was working then a few minutes later my watch screen was completely black. I thought maybe it didn't charge completely and I put it back on the charger now it appears to be overheating while on the charger. What can I do? I love this watch and don't want to get a new one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you charge the watch on a USB-port of a computer? I think this is recommended instead of using a charger.
