Watch faces from connect IQ not working

I have had my vivoactive 3 for about 12-18 months all has been great up until recently... my watch has removed the additional watch faces acquired via the garmin connect iq store.

I have seen this has happened to many people in the past when researching online, and I have tried all previous solutions I have found.. like syncing, uninstall and reinstall, ensuring all is up to date, ensuring more than enough space is available etc etc  

Nothing seems to fix this issue and all additional watch faces are showing on the selection page via my watch as the Connect IQ logo with an explanation mark highlighted in orange.
